They felt like the only team in the tournament that could've taken Kentucky, and they did it. Nice to see some fresh blood in the title game! Now, OF COURSE, they're gonna lose to Duke. Why? Because College basketball is stupid and any really fun storyline is always eventually smashed to bits by Duke, Uconn, or UNC. The idea of a historically mediocre program going into this game and beating a blueblood is preposterous.Had I been a neutral fan, it would have been an absolute joy to watch a freshman, Tyus Jones, say "no...I am taking this one for our team." Programs like Wisconsin just don't get guys like that. Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse." Of course, the Badgers manage to get ahead by 9 in the second half to immediately blow the lead and lose to Duke as a result of uncharacteristically poor play and some BS calls (you can't possibly convince me that they couldn't determine that the Duke player tipped that ball out; I was watching on my four inch phone screen and I could see it clearly. That's pro-Duke bias at its finest right there; they just had to add to the whole 1,000 win Coach K worship this season by allowing him to win another ing championship at any cost).As you can imagine, I despise Duke even more than the average sensible human being after that. Of course there were missed calls on both sides, but the two missed possession calls at the end killed Wisconsin. I'm glad to see Coach K get another championship, and he has done a great job with such a young team, but I wish Wisconsin would have walked away with the W tonight. No matter how exciting some of the story lines can be throughout the tournament, they NEVER fully pan out. It's basically always the same four or five teams that win the title every single year. It's almost baffling how a 64 team tournament can have such little parody. I can't remember in my lifetime ever seeing a non traditional basketball school win the tournament. They could not finish layups. The early free throw misses hurt. They came out nervous and never found a rhythem. And the best player (Jones) did what best players do...he took over.
