With that in mind, it's time to open up this season's Weekly Picks competition. I don't need to explain the rules*; this is my fifth season doing this (still can't believe that it seems like just yesterday when I took over the competition; time flies), so you guys know how I do it by now. Good luck to everyone here, and good luck to your teams, except for you guys in the NFC South who will all be fighting for playoff spots that the Bucs won't be fighting for. Week 1: Green Bay vs. Chicago Kansas City vs. Jacksonville Atlanta vs. Minnesota Tennessee vs. Cleveland Buffalo vs. NY Jets Baltimore vs. Miami Washington vs. Philadelphia LA Rams vs. Carolina Indianapolis vs. LA Chargers Cincinnati vs. Seattle NY Giants vs. Dallas San Francisco vs. Tampa Bay Detroit vs. Arizona Pittsburgh vs. New England Houston vs. New Orleans Denver vs. Oakland I try to have the standings updated by about noon on Tuesday at the latest. That's the standard I adopted in 2017 and have stuck with. It can be earlier than that as well, depending on various circumstances, but they should be submitted no later than that point. If I'm going to be out-of-town early in a week and that deadline might be untenable, I'll make a note of it ahead of time. Thankfully, it doesn't appear I'll be displaced by a hurricane during the first weekend of the season this time around. Wasn't much fun last year, though compared to most people I know I had it much better than they did. -- *I lied. One rules reminder: Picks for the specific games are to be in by the kickoff of those respective games. I do believe in the honor system with this game. People here have lives, things get forgotten about, sometimes a game might accidentally be forgotten to be selected out of the vast Sunday swath (though I'm hoping to amend that a bit if I post the week's schedule in advance). If a game is forgotten about, you can send a DM or send me a tweet (@KramerIndustry) and, more often than not, I will be generous enough to give credit. If Cleveland is facing New England and NE wins and you forget to make that pick, then I'll logically presume NE would've been the pick and give the nod (do they even play each other this year? Who cares) (EDIT: It took several years to happen but that's finally a bad example, but you get the idea all the same). All I will ask is not to abuse this, is all. Chicago (New coach for Green Bay + Hungry Bears defense = win for Da Bears) Kansas City (I don't exactly trust Jacksonville with anything after last season) Minnesota (Since the Falcons aren't above .500, Kirk Cousins should have no issues with them) Cleveland (I don't buy the hype for the Brownies yet, but beating the Titans is doable for them) Buffalo (Watch out for the Bills, they're my sleeper in the AFC) Baltimore (Miami is basically showing that they're the second biggest clown show in the NFL right behind the Raiders) Philadelphia (Okay, Carson. It's your team now... just don't get injured) LA Rams (Can I trust Carolina with anything after last season's free fall?) LA Chargers (Indy is going to find out the hard way that life without Andrew Luck is not easy) Seattle (Easiest. Pick. Ever.) Dallas (When are they going to give Zeke his money?)
