I have to agree that the logos need work. The current ones are to clean. The previous logos had rips and tears and imperfections that gave them character. One problem I have is with the current ships colors, its fine if you use it on a pewter background since the red stand out. But when used on red like on their color rush set I feel like it gets lost. Here are a few examples I've been working on.

The Bucs logo always confused me a bit when I was a kid.

Like I feel like there's no real easy way to attach a flag to a sword and then if you do successfully attach a flag to a sword, it kind of negates the whole purpose of a sword because there's a flag flapping in the wind or just hanging there getting in way when you're trying to sword fight.

Mike Leach...is that you?

I could see them going somewhere in this direction in regards to helmets.  I don't see pewter sticking around because NIKE doesn't do shinny material.

Correct, because stretch dazzle as a performance material is outdated.  It also reaks of the 90's.  We need to get over this fact.  Football jerseys were at one time cotton.  Then nylons came in.  Then mesh, your beloved razzle dazzle, and so on.  Today, it's proprietary wovens that are lighter, cooler, more durable, dry faster, and stretch.  That material performs best...and it just happens to be a matte material.

Some of us located on a board concerned with sports logos are more concerned with looks than performance.  Stretch dazzle looks so much better than matte.

You SHOULD be sorry it's not shiny 🙂

It's where I sit.

spacer.pngIf they go white helmets I really want to see them in matte. Gloss finish white helmets drive me crazy because they are always a shade or two darker than true white and against white jerseys they look more like pearl. Matte white helmets fix that issue and look gorgeous.

This is the first thing you've ever posted that I've agreed with.

Matte White helmets are stunning.  Especially when the other components have a satin, gloss, or chrome finish to them for contrast.

The problem with Matte White is that they mark up like crazy, and they actually do yellow over time when played in dirt.  Had a team switch to Matte White helmets for a season a few years back and switched to Gloss White the next b/c by the end of the season, all of their helmets were off-white. The matte finish collects, where a gloss finish is smoother and easier to clean and doesn't retain dirt particles.

UCF has two of the nicest helmets in the land, their Matte White and their Satin Grey. The problem with both in the NFL is that what makes them so great in amateur levels is the ability for the hardware to be Black.  With standard White nose & rear neck bumpers, there's not enough contrast.  Until the NFL changes that rule, and I doubt they would, these can't be as good as they should be.

Your opinion is completely subjective.  I feel the matte fabrics look 1,000,000,000x better.

I sort of like this helmet for it's color balance. It needs a red facemask, but other than that, it looks sharp...james-ierome-bucs-white-skull-01-1.jpg?1

This concept is really well done and the helmet overall looks great, except for the Arena League/XFL/AAF helmet stripe.  Could keep a White mask and go no/new stripe, or go with a Black or Silver Mask. Could easily trade out to Creamsicle for throwbacks, if you're into  that.

White does seem more probable but really none of us know jack squat right now.

This makes me realize how much I prefer...and miss...the ‘97-‘13 shade of red.

This, though I like the current logo as is, this is nice as well. The 97 logo needed an upgrade.

Overall this may be the best helmet concept I've seen, though I agree with others on it needing a different stripe. That logo, on matte white (as has been mentioned also) with complimentary uniforms would be spectacular. Bring back orange as a primary color...although it doesn't have to be quite creamsicle. 😉

If they went with this I'd be a pretty happy camper.

Usually the Bannerman or guy carrying the flag doesn't do much, if any fighting 😉
