In fact, I would argue that the actions of George Preston Marshall with regard to integration were a good bit worse than any team name. Then you have the harassment allegations from the past few years, and the mostly unspoken fact that their current owner is a toxic dickweed and to some extent their work environment will *always* be toxic while he is in charge. Missed opportunity to dissolve the franchise imho.

They’re still a very historic franchise with a lot of memorable moments: Turk Edwards’ bizarre career-ending injury, 73-0, the career of Sammy Baugh, the end of Vince Lombardi’s career (and life), the Over-the-Hill Gang, Mike Bass’ touchdown on Garo Yepremian’s ill-advised throw, Riggins’ Super Bowl run, Doug Williams and Timmy Smith setting the world on fire in Super Bowl 22, and the 1991 team - arguably the best NFL team of the Super Bowl era, right up there with the ‘72 Dolphins, ‘84 49ers, ‘85 Bears, and (LOLOLOLOL) ‘07 Patriots. I do believe the league could find a reason, if HQ really wanted to, to force Dan Snyder to sell the team. That plus the new name could work wonders in the rehabilitation of the franchise.

TreyEight
Around the 3 minute mark in the video, Jason used “Anchor” as a term of solidifying the teams new identity. Im taking a wild swing but I wouldn't be surprised if the Admirals is indeed the name but still think Commanders is the favorite. They can’t find a reason with rampant sexual assault allegations and Snyder interfering with the investigations. I don’t know what it will take to get the league to force him to sell the team.

DCarp1231
If that logo is accurate and it’s any indication of the word mark, it’s bad enough that we have the Packers and Steelers with stencil font. We don’t need Washington following suit.

Right now everything with the logo is purely speculation.

Look at the letter on the name plate. It definitely isn't an S or N. I think it could be an a M. And I think the nameplate may have the team name, FOOTBALL TEAM (or just TEAM, whatever. Admittedly a little ridiculous to see either on a jersey, but work with me here.) Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but to me, the dot-diamond thing going on in the bottom-right image is implying some sort of gradient texture within the numbers, kind of like some hybrid between the Seahawks and Rams. I've really been trying to figure out what the bottom left image is showing. At first glance, the angled seam would indicate that it's showing the arm stripe. So.. the same stripe as the 2nd row, right column... just showing the light jersey instead of the dark jersey. Clearly though, the widths are different, and there is a lack of that diamond texture in the yellow-white-yellow stripe. Does this mean that there is going to be a weird inconsistency in sleeve stripe design from home<-->away, again much like the Rams? Or, does the white inner stripe "fade out" in to a different color using a dot gradient and we just can't see it in the teaser image...... like this sort of thing: Edited January 5, 2022 by elliott 4 Quote Dribbble ...
