The jerseys in the post where the guy claims that they're "spoilers" can't be accurate - we've already seen the under-collar wordmark (or at least a good portion of it.)

Snake skin or black digital camo? The latter would make more sense; neither look good.  I do not like BFBS here.

I'll withhold my full disgust for the actual reveal. The shirt was a nice distraction from the hideous reality.

Turns out the name has been out there since September

It is what it is, but to wait two years for them to announce Commanders is a bit of a let down. I would've been much happier if they would made the Football Team name permanent. The only thing that needed changing was the helmet, slap a stripe on it and the 'W' on the sides and it would've been perfect!

They went through the charade of asking fans what they wanted when they clearly didn't care. Nobody asked for Commanders. People were asking for variations of Wolves, Hogs, or Redtails. Not being able to use Wolves for legal reasons is perfectly understandable, but why the hell didn't they go with Warthogs or Redtails? Instead they go and fellate the military with a clunky name and ugly, incohesive uniforms that nobody wanted.

They just couldn’t stick with Football Team as their name. It stands out WAY too much imo. It’s one of those kind of names that would make new fans 30 years from now question what that was all about, and the NFL sure as :censored: doesn’t want to go down that road forever. That might’ve actually been the proper way to handle this, but this is just easier. The league is ALWAYS going to take that path.

Commanders is generic as all :censored:, but I still sort of like it. The most important thing is they kept their look similar enough to not be jarring. I’m even fine with the black, as it’s sort of a nice transition from the burgundy and gold era. And it looks like they’re apparently keeping the black as part of a separate set? A bit more college style than we’re used to, but I like that a lot, actually. Better than just shoehorning black into the primary set. I’m happier with them doing it than I was with the Cleveland Baseball Team because burgundy and gold is a great, unique color combo, where navy and red isn’t.

No matter how you shake it, the name is better than just Football Team, and now they can finally ditch the NFL Crimson Tide helmets. That was EASILY the worst part of the WFT set. I wouldn’t be stunned if they went W on one side, and numbers on the other, though. It would be annoying, but not surprising.

Would this be the first we see a team unveil four different jerseys at once? As well as seemingly dividing the four jerseys into two sets? One traditional burgundy and gold while the other is less gold and more black heavy?

Wait until they throw us off by unveiling the black jersey and a gold-devoid white jersey as the primaries and use the burgundy and it’s white counterpart as “legacy” and “legend” jerseys

WFT was already the butt of many jokes. If they had any plans to keep that name around, they quickly scrapped it. No one took the name seriously, and it always felt like a place holder. Could there be better names than Commanders for them to choose? For sure. Wolves would have been cool, legal problems aside. Commanders I think is good enough to work; it feels just professional to feel at home in the NFL. It might have been a safe choice, but I can understand why that is.

I am actually glad they did not go with anything that starts with 'R' to further distance from the old name. I know the military motif can be an eye roller, but really, it's the nation's capital so it blends in. It would be great if the President shows up for the next Kansas City at Washington game.

Thanks, moved stuff over mostly.
