USC needs to hire a tackling coach. If anyone on that defense could make a real tackle the Trojans would've won by three touchdowns. Unacceptable performance to cap off a season full of "what could've been"s.

They would've made the playoffs too. Both losses to Utah came down to the defense refusing to make tackles.

As a long time Tulane football fan, I honestly cannot believe that this really happened. I haven’t felt this euphoric since the Saints won the Super Bowl.

I am (as many of you know) as big an LSU fan as there can be, and back even in my college years LSU-Tulane was a big, VERY spirited rivalry (in all things, not just football),  but I am happy as heck for Tulane and that incredible win.

Oh, and LSU absolutely DESTROYED  Purdue in the Citrus Bowl.  35-0 at the half, 63-7 final.  And next year looks promising.

It is what it is.

If Tulane gets invited to a Power 5 in the future, this may be the game that got it started, like UCF's 2017 "national championship" lol

As I have stated before, Tulane leaving the SEC in the 1960s was probably the dumbest, most regrettable move the university ever made.

Most importantly, they missed out on all that SEC revenue sharing,  With the rise in tourism and traveling fans, the university  (and the city)  have missed out on loads of fans/alums coming in every other year from Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, etc. and spending those tourism dollars for a fun New Orleans weekend.

Sports-wise, the in-state LSU-Tulane rivalry would still remain, much like Tennesssee-Vanderbilt, with a year ending football game.  And speaking of Vandy, they would be Tulane's obvious permanent cross-division rival.

Finally, us sports logo geeks would appreciate that the SEC would actually have a team with GREEN in their color scheme...😁

I had fallen out of interest in college football as FSU entered their bad period after I graduated, but this year they made me remember how fun this all was. Started listening to Shutdown Fullcast, going on r/CFB, and watching so many games.

I went to three bowl games in the last 12 days. Both Tampa games and the Cheez-it bowl in Orlando. It's fun again!

Yep

Closest are the Gators who use green for the Gator logo but I doubt they want to use the other color of a certain rival in Coral Gables full time

Like I said about Stetson Bennett, unless he's the next Brock Purdy at the next level, these games are likely the best we see out of Max Duggan.  Of course for all we know, Duggan and Bennett might have longer NFL careers than Will Levis and Anthony Richardson.

If the ASUN-WAC football superconference gets approved to get moved up en masse to FBS, I think it could be the Bison's best bet to finally get there (and the 'Jacks would likely come with them as a package deal).

Note to mods: If this post is more fit for the realignment thread, feel free to move it there.

South Dakota State is TAKING it to NDSU right now. Year of the Rabbit indeed.

Painful to watch, but the Bison can't win it every year.

I think the minimum stadium requirement for FBS still stands in their way, but I don't know if NDSU themselves even wants to move up. Though I am shocked the FCS hasn't forced them into at least looking into it.

Yikes. Well, congrats on back to back for Georgia, I guess.

So far, this is even uglier than the Notre Dame Bama sacrifice from a decade ago.
