ManillaToad
Put the navy helmet on the old uniform, change the logo to something that isn't a flaming thumbtack. Mix and match the pants, whatever. It's not perfect, but it's an identity they could have stuck with for 20+ years, and it's a lot better than their current joke of a uniform. 5
PERRIN
(it's shameless self plug o'clock) I've posted it in this thread before and it's got some minor issues (numbers are way too small, for one) but this would be my ideal direction for the Titans: Keep the color blocking of the inaugural set, use sword shoulders tastefully, eliminate the armpit swords and gray tones, and emphasize Columbia blue. 18 6 2 1 Perrin Grubb | Aspiring Designer | NAFA Project ~ NFL Redesigns

tBBP
Ladies and gentlemen: welcome to the first full-on Snat-jack in CCSLC history. This is the first time I've EVER seen Tennessee get this much pub up in here But while we're talking about them... 1 hour ago, nuordr said: I miss those pants...the Titans had the best pants in the NFL, now they have the second worst. Setting aside the fact that I completely forgot Michael Oher (you know, the "Blind Side" movie guy) used to play for the Snatit--and we ain't even finna discuss Charlie Whitehurst right now (OH YEAH--SPEAKING OF BACKUP QBS!), that right there was a GOOD-looking uniform as a whole. Sure certain parts didn't look like they should go together (namely the helmet stripes and pants brasher stripes), but as a whole it emphasized their supposed-to-be-signature blue about as well as it could. (I also like that they began wearing white-on-white more often around 2013 and onwards; I think they did it only once prior to then.) The bigger point though is look at how much BRIGHTER that set looked...livelier, like an Impressionist painting from the Gilded Age. The white helmet helped that a lot...which is where the current uniforms fail hard from me. The whole thing is just so dark and drab now...and the two tones of gray do nothing to help that. 5 *Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. || dribbble || Behance ||

Brave-Bird 08
Alright, hold on a second -- first off, Tennessee should not drop the flaming shield for a simple roundel. Roundels are boring, reek of MLS or NBA, and the great thing about a good helmet logo in football (the only uniform item other than the side of a racing car where there's left->right real estate that's prime and not an armpit or pant) is that it has left-> right motion to it. It's why I am such a fan of the Broncos logo, Seahawks helmet logo, Rams horns, the new Falcon, Packers G etc. Yes, a symmetrical logo is good, but making a Titans helmet logo just the roundel would take the most fun part of the identity and turn it into a soccer logo. Boo to that idea. I could do my own shameless plug, but PERRIN's concept is probably my favorite Titans concept I've seen. It would work just as well with the traditional white helmet and that stripe he made. Either way, Tennessee *had* one of the best identities in pro sports and they mucked it up. 7 1

Silver sword-T would go great on that navy helmet. Just limit silver to tertiary status past that.

This would be a really nice combination of the old & new. The Light Blue helmet is definitely the way to go; just look at the XFL Dallas team last year for confirmation. I don't care for the Sword helmet stripe but if the rest of the uni was this, I could live with it.

That's not a bad idea. I'd keep the three red stars around it so it's not so silver heavy. Then give it a much larger presence on the helmet. I'd be curious to see what that looks like.
DCarp1231
In a world of gradients, what exactly would be stopping the Titans from doing gradient red numbers “to invoke the everlasting Olympic flame of Nashville Athens”?

Red is a tertiary color for the Titans, so it would look odd on the numbers but not prominent anywhere else. That, and the fact that it would be a horrendous gradient. In a league full of left -> right logos with sharp edges, the Titans' manages to fit right in and stand out at the same time. It looks bad on the navy helmet with the extra outline, but on the white helmet it's beautiful. 3 1

One thing I find interesting about this, and hadn't really considered before, is how versatile each of the individual elements of this logo could be when used in separate applications. As I referenced a few posts ago, the T+stars could stand on its own. The T by itself could also serve as a secondary or tertiary mark — I could see it on the hip of the pants, for example. I could also see finding additional uses for the red and blue flames, either within the uniforms or on other brand applications. Maybe some or all of this has been done in the past and I just haven't noticed. But using, or at least invoking, those individual elements on their own would just reinforce the core brand even more.
