Goff is the man for this team. Plus I really want Rodgers to go to the Jets and fail to the point of retirement. As a Lions fan I was ready to be done with them for another year like always. But then the way they melded together made me feel like they were a different team. So yes my head would explode

They still have a lot of talent, and if they can shore up the offensive line a bit they may have another shot. It’s a much longer shot than it has been, but Licht has done a pretty good job assembling this team, and I think can do it again if all things fall right Or, the better option, 2). Just retire already. Hit the ol Dusty trail and make all that money broadcasting. 3 Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) BBTV
The biggest shame of Brady retiring would be Greg Olsen getting demoted. He's so much better than I expected him to be. The PBP guy isn't special (good, just not special) but the pairing makes for a pretty good broadcast. 6 Quote "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed." Olsen is probably gathering funds as we speak to give Brady a Robot body so that Brady can play forever so that he wouldn't have to get demoted. BBTV
I enjoyed Romo during his first season, but if I'm going to watch a game, the teams involved is the one and only factor. I don't think FOX gains any advantage by having Brady, even if he's really good. "If we don't sign Brady, CBS or Amazon will" isn't a valid view, since again - I'm sure I'm in the majority where I'm not watching a game for the commentators. The networks have a guaranteed audience based 99% on the matchups. Adding all the announcers they want isn't going to get me to watch a game between two loser-ass teams. 2 Quote "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed." DG_YouKnowWhatThatMeans
Tom Brady has been a national figure for 20+ years and the only thing I ever remember him saying is "I only have that hat to support my friend." 2 1 1 1 Quote 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags

Kevin Burkhardt is like the over simplified "game manager" moniker that we give to quarterbacks. He knows his role and lets Olsen do his thing, which has helped him be good. In a way I can't explain, he has "studio host energy" and he's great at that during the World Series. I don't think even he imagined he'd ever being calling the Super Bowl on a national television level, much less this soon. Volunteering myself as the one goober who does watch based on who is announcing. Can't say that I really hate any of the current teams at any network, but if it's not my team and I have the choice of to see Kevin Harlan's or Ian Eagle's games I'm tuning in there. I even started tuning into MNF for the first time in over five years because Buck & Aikman were over there. When I found out I couldn't watch Reds games due to the wonderful bankrupt network they play on that no one in town see, I got MLB TV for free and chose to watch Orioles & White Sox games because I find Kevin Brown and Jason Benetti to be some of the best around and an absolute joy to listen to. (I will admit that baseball announcers are much more a part of the event than football announcers are given the amount of down time.) The_Admiral
I think the reason Kevin Burkhardt feels off is because from day one, Fox's presentation of the NFL has always been big names and larger-than-life production. The #1 team this whole time has either been Pat Summerall or an infamously annoying guy doing an impression of Pat Summerall -- say what you will about Joe Buck, we all do (or we did until Deadspin realized he was a cloistered private-school kid like themselves and declared him Actually Good), but he was a big name befitting top games. Settling for a guy who is technically sound but not a personality unto himself is kind of an ESPN move, or was until they signed Joe Buck. Fox never used to settle for anything. The reason they got the NFC in the first place is because they paid out the ass and outbid themselves. I can't do Jason Benetti. He's a message board poster doing actual games. We won, and I don't think I like it. 3 1 Quote ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Rockstar Matt
Apparently McCarthy is going to call plays too. I don’t mind parting ways with Kellen because although the Cowboys have had the leagues #1 offense 2 out of the 4 seasons he’s been the offensive coordinator, the Cowboys offense has had two massive flameouts in back to back postseasons. Change was needed. However, McCarthy calling plays scares the s*** out of me. This doesn’t feel like an improvement at all. If anything it’s going to make the offense worse. 2 Quote Cowboys - Lakers - LAFC - USMNT - LA Rams - LA Kings - NUFC
