Playoff picks:

The Browns lose to Houston in a gut-wrenching, yet hilarious fashion.

That's it. That's all I got.

I hope the hilarious part doesn't happen, but I feel like this is what will happen, too, even as much as I'm pulling for Cleveland. (Not that I have anything against Houston because I don't, and it'd be huge for both Stroud and HC DeMeco Ryans.)

The Lions might have kicking issues, too.  We just can't tell because Mr. Bite-their-kneecaps never kicks.

And if Dan Campbell isn't careful, that'll end up costing the Lions this playoff game just like it did their game in Dallas.

(Yeah, lost in all that truffle about whether 68 reported or not was the fact that Campbell went for it in the red on 4th down from like the 10 or 8 yard line and the Lions got stuffed. Those three points left on the field cost them that game.)

The gut-wrenching part is what will make it hilarious.

Hope is the worst thing we can have as Browns fans. Only stoic cynicism will deliver us. Expect the worst, be pleased, and more importantly, surprised if it doesn't happen. This is the way. 😎

Stop. Disrespecting. The. 49ers.

NO. Everyone needs to poo-poo on the Whiners. Why? Well... I do because I have no horse in the race right now and just wants maximum chaos.

Yeah, as a non-Lions fan living in Detroit, I can tell you, although locally everyone is guzzling the Dan Campbell kool aide, I do believe it’s only a matter of time until his in game decisions cost them a game.  (Actually, in his first couple of seasons it already did.).

I get why right now the DC love is enormous… he got them a division championship, he’s a funny goofball you’d want to have a beer with, the players would run thru a wall for him, he totally flipped the team culture.

BUT… my assumption was at this point he’d learn a few lessons about when to be a river boat gambler and when to be an NFL coach and play it straight.  He seems incapable.  He is who he is.  I’m not expecting him to rewrite his risky script completely, but come on… sometimes you gotta be smarter.

Going for 2 for the win in Dallas was a great call and they  certainly seemed to get screwed on the call. But at that point it’s a 2 point conversion from the 8.  Just kick for the  tie, dummy.  He was just so frustrated by the call it became a stubborn “I’ll show you” moment. He let his emotions take over.  Because of that dumb tough guy decision, they got what was coming to them.

And eventually it’ll happen again.

If you really wanted to piss everyone off: Chiefs over anyone with a bunch of bad ref calls 😝

Ravens or bust. I said what I said.

Spoiler

IF, somehow, Dallas breaks through and wins it all, I will swear off all things NFL related for a solid calendar year. I CANNOT and WILL NOT deal with the media drooling that'll ensue should that happen.

Schefter reporting the Patriots and Belichick are going to part ways today. If Bill was willing to give up personnel decision making (as reports claimed) and focus just on coaching, then letting him go is a terrible move.

Two games with football weather in the AFC side. Only thing ruining it are the Texans because if the game was in Cleveland... man...

"Football weather" usually makes for terrible football. Watching two teams try to avoid freezing to death while playing a football game is not fun. Snow games look cool, but that's about it.

This is true. Wild conditions can sometimes take away both teams' advantages, and then you end up with a 6-3 finish.

And unlike last year, Buffalo can't use Detroit as a backup.

And Pittsburgh is the away team, so handing them a home playoff game would be kinda rough. I don't think it's supposed to be THAT bad that they would have to move the game, but it's an interesting problem.

Yeah, the wind is supposed to be pretty wild, too, so it doesn't look like a high-scoring game. Snow is hit or miss, but wind forecast is usually pretty reliable. Bet the under.

6-3 finish

The Bills and Browns had horrible luck (can you believe it?!) in the 00s where, in 4 seasons, they had games against each other end 6-3, 13-6, and 8-0. I think they were all weather games.

I wonder if conditions at the Meadowlands or Cincinnati would be better enough to host the Bills game if it has to be moved.

I'd prefer not to have a neutral-site playoff game, thanks. I remember hearing speculation that the NFL was going to use last year's AFCCG as a test for more neutral-site conference championships in the future if it ended up being Bills/Chiefs. The Bengals beating the Bills ended up canceling those plans.

Even in a season in which Dak wasn't ass, Dak is still ass.
