rmackman
I haven't seen this one posted...Joe Johnson as a Boston Celtic:Playing vs. other guys in wrong uniforms as well...Crazy to think he was traded to Phoenix along with a first round pick to Phoenix for Tony Delk and Rodney Rogers. Just think, they could have had KG at center, Paul Pierce at small forward, Ray Allen at shooting guard, Rajon Rondo at point guard, and Joe Johnson at power forward. Granted Allen and Johnson are both SGs (putting him at the PF position wouldn't really work that well), and I doubt contract parameters would have allowed it. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports

Despite failing to get Duncan, they still ended up with another future Finals MVP with the 3rd pick. However, they traded him in the middle of his rookie season and stayed with Antoine Walker for 6 years,
illwauk
Sterling Sharpe's first Packers press conference in 1988. He wore 2 in college, so no idea why they gave him 43.

SFCOM1
Sterling Sharpe's first Packers press conference in 1988. He wore 2 in college, so no idea why they gave him 43.The NFL had a cut and dry numbering system by posistion. Unlike the NCAA which was more "fexable". The NFL adoped the "Exception Rule" about a decade or so ago. So Sterling never got the chance to wear the number he wore in college. Gothamite
Yes, but Sharpe was a WR. The NFL's numbering system put him in the 80s, not the 40s. Quote The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.

Tigers6884
I know people say that a Brewers jersey is the wrong one for Hank Aaron, but thinking about how much he meant to Milwaukee during his years as a Milwaukee Brave, I think it's kinda cool that he got to finish his career in the city in which he began it.

If you had to pick his "wrong" uniform, it would be his #5 jersey he wore only as a rookie

And I feel the same way about Willie Mays with the Mets. That will never be "wrong" to me.The Mets' acquisition of Mays happened in the first season during which I was watching baseball; it spurred on my interest in, and my love of, history. Also, there was great symmetry in the fact that each of the then top three home-run hitters (Aaron, Ruth, and Mays) returned to his original city, but with a different team, at the end of his career.
