Super Bowl XLII

How about Chargers vs Packers for the Bronze?

I don't want the season to end yet!

Oh and just saying, a healthy Chargers team BEATS New England today BUT no excuses...the Patriots defense made the plays they had to in the red zone and that was the ultimate difference.

So me...eating crow now. It tastes disgusting. I guess I could've cleaned it and de-feathered it. Oh and cooking it might have helped too. Oh wells. Too late now.

As a Jets fan, this must be vaguely similar to how I might have felt as a Yankee fan heading into the '86 World Series if I wasn't 18 months old at the time.

Since it's far easier to be a Jets/Giants bigamist than it is to do so with the Mets and Yankees, and since I wouldn't pull for the Patriots if they were playing Al Qaeda (I'd be rooting for a scoreless tie in that one, although the post-game handshake between bin Laden and Belichick would probably create a black hole of pure evil that would implode the planet), I will proudly support the team wearing the NY. It's most likely the only shot New York has at any kind of championship in the foreseeable future anyway.

Who should be put on suicide watch more, Cowboys fans last week or Packers fans now?

Packers fans. A guy who lives on my floor went nutso when Tynes made the FG. Turned off my TV talking about "DON'T GIVE FOX THE RATINGS!!!"

My 29 year old sister said that "a single tear went down my left eye" when the Cowboys lost. So yeah, judging by that, I say that if you know any Packers fans or have any that live near you...go see about them, 'kay?

Funny you should mention that. My quadmate, who just happens to post here as alwaysr92, is a HUGE Packers fan, and hes still moping around like he just lost a family member.

We are all New York Giants, at least for two weeks anyways.

Funny, in 2001/2 we were all Patriots... What has the world come to? ^_^

I beg to strongly differ on that....

But you know what? The franchise I support has a future now-which is something that couldn't have been said before Friday evening. So I guess there's some positives out of this weekend.

Not all of us.

Anyway, as one of the few Patriots fans/diehards here at CCSLC, let me just say that I'm very much looking forward to what should be a competitive game between New England and New York. I'm astonished that Eli Manning has led his team this far, and I'm also astonished that my team is 18-0 heading into what could be one of the biggest landmark games in football history. I'm going to sit here over the next two weeks and read comments about the Patriots cheating their way to the Super Bowl, and how Bill Belichick is the personification of sheer evil. I'm going to try my hardest not to respond, because I'm enjoying seeing my team in the Super Bowl for the fourth time in seven years. I'm actually starting to embrace all of the negativity towards New England. Being the bad guy is fun sometimes, I guess.

OK, I hate Boston sports as much as anyone but it's time to put this "cheating" thing into perspective. The Patriots got busted for using an illegally positioned camera to try to steal signals. Do we really believe that the other 31 NFL teams don't use their legally positioned cameras to try to snag some signals from the sidelines? Yes, The Patriots were caught but believing they are the only team to do it is like believing that the only baseball players using steroids are the ones who tested positive last season. Like it or not, this team isn't 18-0 because they stole defensive signals from The Jets.

So when it's all said and done, what's gonna sit as a bigger waste of everybody's time, Patriots vs Giants or Red Sox vs Rockies? What will be more entertaining, the game or the half time show? Who should be put on suicide watch more, Cowboys fans last week or Packers fans now?

Either way, it looks like the marathon to get passed out drunk before the conclusion of the game is on.

it was more random indiscriminate killing via any number of weapons in Sporting Goods, Hardware or Lawn and Garden watch. screw guns, i can't get one of those but i'm old skool. Aluminum bats, golf clubs, hammers, chain saws, knives, hunting knives, tiki torches all get the job done and a reasonable low price some even on clearance at your local wal-mart. B)

:D

Thankfully my wife convinced me to leave retail so i no longer had access to those types of weapons.

Exactly. Why else wan't there a bigger deal made out of it by the rest of the teams in the league. it was the media that blew it up.

This may be the first year I don't watch the Super Bowl. I won't be happy no matter who wins. There is no way I want to see another boston championship nor will I be able to stand if Eli Manning ever wins a championship.

My thoughts exactly. I may even root for the Pats because of this. Either way, I wont like the outcome.

What a horrible Super Bowl.
