Well, tell that part of you to shut up.

TCU is going to rise thanks to Iowa's loss. They keep looking good week in and week out and if TCU knocks off Utah next week, there's no reason to see why TCU couldn't be one of those teams in the thick of the national championship picture.

Boise State, on the other hand, might fall thanks to Oregon losing and both Georgia Tech and Ohio State winning. But, remember, the Broncos can still win out and could (key word being could) crack the BCS.

Zach Collaros = Stud.

That he is. He reminds me a lot of our QB two years ago, Ben Mauk. They even look alike. I really think though, that Tony Pike will be the starter when he is healthy again. While Collaros certainly has played well enough to keep the job, there's nothing Tony Pike has done to warrant him not maintaining it. UC is going to be one scary offensive bunch in the coming years (Collaros, Pead, Woods, Binns, and our OLine is very deep). It's only a matter of time before the defense catches up.

WTF. How did Pitt get up to #8? I've heard absolutely nothing about them this year.

Bill Stull's been on it this year. They've been mostly flying under the radar, but some folks have been watching them, I suppose. I will say, though, that I, like Drew22, am surprised they are that high up in the rankings.

And hold up...din't USC just get trounced by the Ducks just last week? Now the Ducks drop below USC in the rankings? What tha eff, man?

(And look who just snuck in the back door...Clemson. Score four for the ACC. For now.)

The rankings are just a different creature that no one can tame. That's all I can say there.

Now, on to the main event of the evening... The brand spanking new BCS rankings.

1. Florida

2. Alabama

3. Texas

4. TCU

5. Cincinnati

6. Boise State

7. Georgia Tech

8. LSU

9. USC

10. Iowa

Let's get the obvious ones out of the way first. Texas leads the Big XII and Georgia Tech leads the ACC.

We can break the SEC and Big East ties via the BCS rankings. Florida leads the SEC and Cincinnati leads the Big East.

Ohio State is considered to lead the Big Ten because Iowa played Northern Iowa.

Arizona is considered to lead the Pac-10 because they have a 2-0 record against the teams with two losses (Oregon is 1-1.)

Now that that bit of ugliness is out of the way, the rankings look as follows:

FLA, BAMA, TEX, TCU, CIN, BOISE, GT, LSU, USC, IOWA, OSU, PITT, ORE, MIA

NCG gets Florida and Alabama. By rule, Texas goes to the Fiesta, Georgia Tech goes to the Orange, and Ohio State and Arizona go to the Rose.

By rule, Alabama takes an at-large at #2. TCU must be given an at-large bid, as the highest-ranked non BCS. That leaves the at-large pool for the last two spots as follows:

Boise State, USC, Iowa, Pittsburgh, Oregon, Miami

As the NCG took the SEC champion, the Sugar Bowl has the first choice. I believe they would choose to take USC. The Orange Bowl has the next choice, and I suspect they'd take Iowa. Then the Fiesta Bowl would take TCU, and the Sugar would take Cincinnati.

So we have this:

NCG: Florida v Alabama

Rose: Ohio State v Arizona

Sugar: USC v Cincinnati

Fiesta: Texas v TCU

Orange: Georgia Tech v Iowa

Why wouldn't the Orange Bowl take Cincy? Don't they have to?

The Big East champion does not have a bowl tie in. Will is assuming that Cincy is considered the least "desirable" team for a BCS Bowl due to fanbase and alumni size, and concludes they will be the kid who gets picked last when assigning bowl bids.

We can go with this. I'm guessing on Iowa being the next, given the choices. Really, I see TCU and Cincy even - but the Fiesta Bowl seems to be the one that likes to take the non-BCS team.

That's a pretty cool little report.

Ironic that Doug Lesmerises was panned for his voting in the beginning of the year, only to be seen as the most consistent voter.

Gameday will be in Ft. Worth this Saturday and TCU is already claiming that the game has only SRO tickets available. Now, I am not sure if they are thinking that all students, who get in free (or alums who still have their IDs) will be at the game.

Is this game good or bad for the MWC as while the game is not on Versus, it will be on CBS College Sports which is in only 30 million households. Good for DirecTV subscribers, not good for those who have basic cable.

Cincinnati stays alive for another week and now Cincy is in a huge dilemma who to start Tony Pike the guy that brought you to the dance or the guy that stole the girl in Zach Collaros per say.

Punctuation is your friend.

Anyways, I am now rooting for TCU the rest of the way. Go Horned Frogs! haha

I've seen them play a few times over the years, but never really paid much attention to them, and I've caught some or all of at least two of their games this year...Nevada runs a very interesting style of offense, something they call the "pistol". It's almost like the run-and-shoot of rushing offenses to me. Haven't really seen it run much, but it gave San Jose State some fits. I believe I had also heard that coming into the game, Nevada had the nation's top rushing offense. After last night's game, I can see how. But here's the stat line that popped out at me:

Four different players topped 100 yards rushing. Four.

This team might give Boise State's D some fits later on this season, too. And oh by the way, the Wolfpack is also undefeated in conference play. Possible BCS buster on the horizon? Something to look out for, I'd guess.

Nevada has a crazy rushing game. It might be the system, but they have a really good QB and some good backs. I could see them knocking off Boise. But that would just boost TCU into a BCS game for sure.

Nevada started out slow, REALLY slow this season losing their first three games. But since then they've played like most expected them to from the start. Play decent defense and let your offense outscore em. I've got tickets to the Nevada Fresno State game at Mackay Stadium this saturday, can't wait to see this offense in person.

And Nevada having a strong running game is far from new, they've ALWAYS had a strong running game. They even made Chance Kretschmer noticeable a few years ago.
