You might lose your bet. We all know the Marlins are getting new uniforms next season and so are the Toronto Blue Jays. Anything can happen. Even the Yankees could add a navy alternate next season, which I forgot to add on the speculation list. I could be right.

2/11 is not most.

Ok, let's run through it real quick.

1. Houston Astros: Complete overhaul on both home and road jerseys and home & road alternates. They will return to the Navy and orange combo and their logo will be a combination of their 80's and mid to late 90's set. I doubt it, and if they do change having it by next year is pushing it considering they were JUST sold.

2.Oakland Athletics. A return to "A's" on their home uniforms and green alternate and Old English style lettering on their roads Nope. What the have now is solid and they have no reason to change

3. Toronto Blue Jays: complete overhaul and a return to solid royal blue and baby blue on all uniforms Possible, hopefully you're right on this one. But if they do make a major change, I doubt powder roads are included

4. Milwaukee Brewers. "Milwaukee" on road jerseys Again, hopefully.

5.Seattle Mariners to bring back Navy/teal cap. Same as above, but the Mariners front office have already stated that as of now they have no intention to bring it back.

6.Florida Marlins. Teal and orange will be their primary colors. Home, road, and two alternates. One a teal home alt Ownership has already stated, many times, that teal is NOT in their future plans

7. New York Mets. Swap the black alternate for a Royal blue one No. Just, no. No matter how much people may wish for it. it's not going to happen.

8. Baltimore Orioles. Orange home alt jersey and a black road alt with "Baltimore" across the chest in orange I don't see Baltimore getting an orange alt.

9. San Diego Padres. Complete overhaul. Brown/yellow gold/khaki primary colors. Home, road, and a brown alt jersey Again, it's been talked about but if they do make a change I have a feeling the old colors will NOT be included.

10.Pittsburgh Pirates. Canary Yellow throwback jersey for an alternate. Yellow/black hat from the early 70's added as the alt cap No. The Pirates have been trying to REDUCE the amount of uniforms they have

11. Colorado Rockies. Overhaul on all uniforms. Drop the pinstripes on home and road jerseys, tweak the lettering a bit and add sleeves on the black alt and pinstripe alt I don't see Colorado making anything but minor changes

And here's the biggest reason I feel this way. Every single time a thread like this pops up someone steps up with this huge list of changes they expect, and every year it's about 10% of what is guessed. Can you name the last time eleven teams in the same league made major/fairly major changes to their uniform set in one off season?

Teams with changes-

Florida Marlins (Miami Marlins with Heat like color scheme, focusing on Red/Yellow/Orange or they go Green, Blue, Yellow)

Toronto Blue Jays (same logos and scripts, just a move to blue)

Mets (Add Blue New York Alternate)

Red Sox (ALT Home Uni similar to what they wore in 1912)

NY Yankess (maybe a throwback game against the Red Sox, but thats it)

Angels (Full time gold halo)

Throw in some patches and the like, and thats it.

The Astros and the Blue Jays are NOT in the same league if that's what your saying. In 2000 and 2001 a bunch of mlb teams made some modifications on their uniforms and I think next season there will be several teams upgrading their uniform sets. Just because the owner says that the Marlins won't wear teal, doesn't mean they won't. I remember in the summer of 2006 the GM for the Diamond Backs said there would be no changes for 2007. They will stick to teal/purple/copper/ black and we all know what the "D'BACKS" did to their set In 07.Why wouldn't the Mets replace their black alt with a blue one? These are just my predictions what will happen next year or maybe in 2013 or 2014. Who knows. Nothing stays the same forever if it's not Dodger blue or Yankee pinstripe. Anyways, I did not start this thread, but I want to throw in my two cents.

Dude, it's what I think will happen, not what I want to happen. I just got this feeling those changes will be made for next season or the season after next season. Nobody knows which mlb team will get new uniforms next season other than the Jays and Marlins.

Using ANGELCAT-IDA's logic, here's what I think will happen in my near future:

Saturday, I will win the lottery. I'll buy a huge house, 47 cars and at least 3 boats. On Wednesday I'll win the lottery again, but I'll buy an airplane or something cheap. A month from now, Kate Upton and some of her supermodel friends and I will be playing ping-pong in my back yard. Two months from now, I'll win the lottery again, not because I'll need the money, but rather, I'm good at picking numbers. Next year, I'll buy the LA Dodgers and move them back to Brooklyn. And in five years, I'll be the commissioner of all 4 major pro sports leagues.

Again, this is what I think will happen, not what I want to happen. I just got this feeling...

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

It may appear like this thread is just going down the crapper, but it actually is helping to distinguish those who seriously know what they're talking about and those who are just looking to feel like they're of a superior mind before reallity sets in and they return to their mother's basement.

Legit sources for speculation of changes (sourced from this board, links found in the various MLB uni threads):

- Toronto: the team did on online Q&A where the team official said that if you like the current set, you should buy it now because it won't be available for too much longer.

- San Diego: a team official said they are considering incorporating their current color set with elements of their older style (like the Tucson Padres).

- Marlins: various team officials stating repeatedly their dislike of the teal, and the elimination of most references to "Florida".

- Mets / Astros / Red Sox Patches: they have important team-related anniversaries upcoming in 2012, and MLB has shown a consistent trend of teams wearing patches in these cases.

Straight-up pulling out of the ass:

- Astros overhaul: the team was sold. It is incredibly unlikely that the new ownership got any request for a new uniform set in under the deadline that passed well before the sale was finalized, much less approved.

- Rockies overhaul: someone on this board said the team should de-emphasize purple or emphasize green and purple. Someone else ran with it.

- Mariners teal hats: wishful thinking, directly refuted by team officials saying there is no plan to bring that hat back.

- Athletics / Brewers / Mets / Orioles / Pirates: total and completely unfounded speculation (i.e. wishful thinking)

Go Astros!

Go Texans!

Go Rockets!

Go Javelinas!

I just want to say one more thing that all of you are a bunch of megamorons with sticks up your a** who think you know everything. It's time you closed down this thread and get off the internet!!

Well, that certainly escalated rather quickly.

There is proof of my Brewers speculation...they're wearing the navy "Milwaukee" jerseys a LOT more on the road.

Heck, I've seen merchandise with the ball-n-glove logo but the current script in the old colors...but I don't take THAT for speculation.

I guarantee you that none of what you just said will happen. This is what I do expect from each of these teams, however-

Marlins: Complete overhall. Color scheme is likely to be black and orange and it may involve some baby blue.

Jays: Complete overhall. The current look is on its way out completely.

Mets: No matter how much fans want the black jerseys out and a blue alt instead, it isnt happening, and there is no evidence that this change might happen.

Red Sox: Are you kidding me, a blank white jersey with a blank white hat as an alternate? no way in hell

Yankees: no.

Angels: already been said, gold halos are for this year only

Even though it's early, here's what I hope for in uniform changes:

AL West:

Mariners - Teal Bill on their home cap.

Angels - 'Anaheim' on their road jersey.

Athletics - Perfect set. Maybe just tweak their new gold alternates by putting the piping down the pants.

Rangers - Get rid of the black drop shadow. It makes it too cluttered and IMO it the jersey would look cleaner and brighter without it.

AL Central:

White Sox - Bring back the sleeveless alternate. They are practically made for the White Sox. Also, put the WHITE sox LOGO back on the sleeve of the road jersey. Scripts don't look right on the sleeves IMO.

Royals - Home jerseys looks like Dodgers. Incorporate more gold into their uniforms. New font for the uniforms.

Indians - Blue caps with red block 'C' for the cream alternate. Replace the block 'C' on the road with the Indian head. It gives a throwback look a more modern flare. Get rid of cursive 'I' for good.

Twins - Get rid of the sleeveless for good.

Tigers - Perfect.

NL East:

Mets - Get rid of the black alt, the black caps, the black bills, the black drop shadow, and the black socks. Add a blue alternate jersey.

Phillies - Put 'Philadelphia' on the road jersey.

Marlins - Add an aqua alternate. Make the pinstripes at home aqua. Get rid of the black alternate. Put Miami on the road.

Nationals - Put the Nationals script on the home jersey.

Braves - Perfect set.

AL East:

Yankees - Add a black alternate. Just kidding, perfect set.

Rays - Get rid of the powder blue alternate.

Orioles - Change home to black script with orange outline. Get rid of the orioles script on the road jersey's sleeve.

Red Sox - Add navy piping on red alternate.

Blue Jays - Add blue alternate and incorporate more blue into their home and away jerseys.

NL Central:

Pirates - Add a gold alternate jersey for home. Go back to vests for home and away.

Cubs - Change font on away jersey.

Astros - Make home jersey clean with no pinstripes.

Cardinals - No alternates. Perfect set.

Brewers - Change the navy blue to royal blue. Change the vegas gold to athletic gold. That will make the jerseys look a little brighter and less drab.

Reds - Get rid of the black bill on the red alternate. The Reds jerseys are classic as themselves.

NL West:

Rockies - Add a purple alternate. Get rid of the silver. It draps the uniforms out. They can be very bright and sharp if they use primary colors.

Padres - Change color scheme to brown, orange, yellow, gold, or a combination of two of them. They might look better if they use more distinctive colors. Keep the interlocking 'SD' and make the SD white for home caps and orange for road caps.

Diamondbacks - IMO, they should go back to the copper, black, purple, and teal color scheme. Red, black, and sedona just isn't good looking IMO.

Dodgers - Perfect set.

Giants - Perfect set.

I agree with you on the White Sox one. Here's my suggestions for three of the teams:

Braves-put the Tomahawk A logo on the sleeves. Change tomahawk, script, and numbers on road unis to blue, change tomahawk, script, and numbers on blue alternate from blue to red.

Brewers: Agree with changes but should either go back to "MB" glove logo or "Owgust" the beer barrel man logo.

Angels: Change the caps from red to navy blue, change lettering and numbers on red jersey to either white or navy blue.

Atlanta Braves, please bring back the Indian Head logo.

Indians NEED to keep the red hat with the cream alts. The blue helmets don't look right with the cream alts, so they need to add a red helmet to match the hats. But the Home and Blue alts need to be given a more retro feel to tie in with the other jerseys. Maybe lose the double text outline and the red bill? sort of similar to the home unis from the 94 season right after the redesign.

I'm pretty unconventional so as a result I think the Yankees could use one MAYBE two alt unis. Yes their current set is a classic but the same thing day in and day out for going on 45+ years now has gotten a little stale, shake it up a little.
