Am I the only one who thinks that the Clippers gave up an awful lot for a guy who may not even resign with them?

You are 100% on that one. Frankly I dont see Paul staying on LA's B squad after this year. Im just glad to see the Hornets got something out of this instead of nothing at the end of the year when CP3 takes his talents to the Big Apple.

Well, that's it. I've gotta support one of these superteams, so I'll go with the Clippers. CLIPPER NATION B)

That's funny...the Clippers have a nation? Figured it was more like a dinner table or something.

Clippers and "superteam" in the same sentence... I never thought I'd see the day.

After this trade, that's going to be one big-ass dinner table. :P

Me_normal.jpg@chadfordinsider Nets offered everything they could for Howard: Brook Lopez + FIVE 1st Rd picks. Theirs in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018 + Rockets 2012 pick.

How did the Magic turn that down? "Oh, no Deron Williams? DEAL IS OFF!!!"

I thought they fired the guy who was drinking on the job.

They turned it down because they know that deal isn't going anywhere from now until the March 15th trade deadline. Five 1st round picks might sound enticing if they were coming from a Minnesota, Cleveland or Charlotte but if DH12 is traded to NJ/BKLYN you have to think the Nets would instantly become a top 10 team in the league, which would greatly devalue those picks. Keeping Howard and seeing how the team does for the next few months is the best option right now for the Magic, the trade offers will still be there and there's always the chance he re-signs.

Can't believe the haul we got for CP3. Looking forward to two top-10 draft picks in the most talented draft in a while, as well as Eric Gordon dropping like 30 a game.

IMO, your haul was better during the trade with the Lakers, but my undying love and respect for Luis Scola might be altering my opinion.

A lot of Hornets fans thought it was too. I am more of a fan of the blow it up and build with draft picks than remaining a 7-10 seed for a few years with some decent guys but no one fantastic (really wanted Kevin Martin though).

K-Mart, Scola, Odom, those are three really good players. Aminu, Kaman, Gordon and the 1st round pick just seems underwhelming comparatively.

After this trade, the amount of "life-long Clippers fans" will be multiplied by 50.

Color me amazed that the Clippers actually didn't get the football pulled away from them at the last second. But even still, Paul + Griffin + an old Billups + Vinny Del Negro wouldn't leave me too excited for their prospects. Billups with Kaman and Gordon surrounding Griffin almost seems like a better team, if less sexy. I know Caron Butler is there, but he seems a little too hot and cold for me.

Anyway, congratulations to the Clippers for getting the big prize this offseason. They still can't beat the Lakers in the Playoffs.

I'm happy for the Clippers and Clipper fans. I'm not much of a basketball fan, but I do like the Clippers.

Paul will be good, probably very good, but I'm totally bummed at the loss of Gordon. The first proposed deal with Gordon staying and Bledsoe going made the Clippers a great team. Now, with the loss of Gordon, I can only see a 4th seed at best. More like 5-8.

The Clips added a great piece to the puzzle but gave away a ton of depth. I think the table is set for the future, but not the present.

Rip Hamilton is officially a Bull.

Very happy about that, should fit in nicely. So pumped for this season to start. I'm actually going to the Bulls preseason game in Indianapolis this Friday which should be fun
