EJ_Barlik
Eh, not bad. Let's wait for the final version to pass judgment. That, and leave the Jags logo alone - they just need a uni overhaul. I suggest the first leopard-print (ok, jaguar-print) home jersey with all black pants, and a leopard-print stripeline thinly outlined in white on the pants. For the white jersey, thickly outlined (in black) leopard-print numbers would work for me.... 5-time Defending NL East Champions
rvrdgsfn
Now this is how an update to a current look should be. Bravo Panthers.
GeorgesL
It looks sleeker.
54Chevy
like the removal of the blue outline stroke.hate the bottom jaw/lip shape.
kevinmets
I really like it. The only thing that bothers me is the two different eye sizes. Looks like the panther is squinting one eye, or has a lazy eye, or something. Makes it less intimidating and more silly looking. Otherwise its an improvement. MC2
Being a Panther fan, I like it and everything, but I feel like I've seen something very similar on these forums. Fast. Hard. Finish.
Davidson
Solves none of the problems with the original. Bit poor really. Shame.
Jamikel
Bleh. Looks like the old Panther logo caught a case of the trollface.
Brave-Bird 08
This means a new uniform design, me thinks. Great update.
phutmasterflex
It just looks like as if I am staring at a statue of the Panther's head by its new shape Go A's!
The_Admiral
I think this is a very good improvement. Just like with the Cardinals, you don't realize how dated the old one had become until you look at them side-by-side. Well done. I hope the Jaguars do something similar. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
Gr3g3
Now that it's leaked I can officially rant. I've stared in horror at this thing for a while. I was terribly disappointed when I got the first look. Many designers' quarrel with the last loo is how horribly drawn it was, and in my opinion this one is worse....I can agree fully with most of you that it could have been done better, there are parts I like and parts that baffle me considering Nike's previous work that was amazing. The ears are wrong, whiskers are inconsistent and, the biggest thing that stands out is the right "lazy" eye that was lost...I understand where they were going, and it's an excellent vision, but the execution just isn't there. Can't wait for you guys to see the word mark....Well this makes me think the wordmark is going to be awful. Better than the "spray paint" I hope. Also, I hope they get rid of the worst helmet stripes in NFL history.
BrySmalls
Bleh. Looks like the old Panther logo caught a case of the trollface.Haha! I definitely see the new logo as a prototype for a future lolcat
RedSox44
I kinda like it. It isn't a major change, obviously, but it's brings it out of the mid-90s and into this century.
Quillz
Will they also update the full bodied alt logos, or are those dead?
CrazyAnna
I wonder what the new wordmark will look like. The Pike
infrared41
Nothing special but it does look better than the old one. I give it a solid "not bad."
jhans203
A quick trace in Illustrator, trying my best to eliminate the curves of the hands and fingers, yields this:There are definitely parts of this I really like and parts I really don't. I'm gonna tweak the bits I'm sour on and see how it could have looked.Honest to god, the very first thing that came to my mind was that cave from AladdinLOL! That was my first thought too! I was just going to Google a pic, but you beat me to it!
TheOldRoman
I expected the normal Nike-fellating bunch to love it, but I am surprised by the almost universal love for this. I don't think it looks good at all. The lower jaw is so bad that I can't look at anything else in the logo. This isn't an upgrade, it's just just different. Quillz
I think it looks fine. A good tweak of what was already there.
