RHSNEYES Posted April 23, 2013 Share Posted April 23, 2013 The Dolphins new threads aren't terrible in a vacuum but what element of this uniform looks better than the previous design? Numbers? Helmet? Jersey layout? Color blocking? Nothing here is an upgrade in any way. They aren't terrible in and of themselves, but they're a downgrade in every area. Which infers the Dolphins are still planning to mainly wear white at home. Not that there was much question, but with such a major uni overhaul, you'd almost wonder if the team would want to highlight the aqua jerseys in front of the home fans more often. Who wants to buy that? Jerseys are as much a fashion statement that you're proud to wear as a reflection of your team. I own dozens of different teams' jerseys simply because they're cool looking. These are boring and have absolutely nothing going on. Who would buy these if they werent Dolphins fans?Who would buy a Jaguars jersey for "fashion" outside of a blind person? Now, I hate the Dolphins ("squish the fish") but at least I was fond of their strong brand identity with aqua and orange. Now it's just white and teal... yuck. Giants are in NY and very popular, and the Saints are a very popular team as well with a lot of players people like. I doubt the Bucs sold many jerseys outside their fanbase, their jerseys arent that cool and they don't have very many popular playersAs for people buying jerseys, I assume you've seen the BR poll which has like 70%+ giving he jerseys a B or better, as well as the Darren Rovell poll which has 85%+ saying they like the jerseys Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Billy B Posted April 23, 2013 Share Posted April 23, 2013 I'd call the Dolphins a downgrade, but they aren't bad. Just a little too plain for my tastes. Disappointed they went away from the aqua facemasks, those made the helmet. My biggest complaint about these is the lack of orange. I'm glad they have the same stripe pattern from head to toe and seem to replicate that on the numbers as well. Anyone know if they are ever going to stop with the generic MIAMI in the endzones?!They share the stadium with The U. This is the reason for the generic font in endzonesI knew that was the reason why but damn their field is one of the best and when they went allOut it looked great. It's 2013 they need to find a way to switch the zones out or something because I do know that constantly painting it over and over again would take its toll. The numbers are blah. The lack of any kind visual element to bring excitement to the jersey is...blah.Without a mockup it's hard to say for sure, but I think the Miami set would look TONS better with an aqua facemask (can someone do a quick 'n' dirty of that?).
