Sooooooooo McNeese State has decided to wear "special" uniforms for their September 13 Military Appreciation Day game. I'm just going to leave this hear and go cry in the corner....

At first I thought it was a floral pattern thinking that was at least orignal. Then I realized it was yet another digicam...ugh.

ASU has a new finish on their gold helmets. They used to be more of a matte yellow and they are now back to a shiny gold. Sorry no pictures right now

Welcome to the boards. As for the new finish, i'm not too fond of it. It looks like a different shade of yellow than the pitchfork outline

Cant tell in the photo, but in the highlight videos it is noticeable

Are you sure about that? I was at the game and saw them up close yet I didn't notice any difference to the finish.

I guess it's a bit more of a satin finish than a straight matte finish, but I thought they were like that last year too.

Does miss state still wear this for normal home and away? Can someone confirm?

I always thought that this was one of Adidas better offerings.

Sadly all I can remember from Miss state recently is special uniforms with flashy gold or dull grey numbers. Their look has really been muddled by bad alternates

Yep, those are still the regular uniforms for MSU. Expect a redesign after this season.

They really shouldn't need the timeouts...it's temple. Asu looks like the a&m finish on the maroon helmets

Well it's Vanderbilt... and it's 7-7 almost at the half... so...

Also, is there really a rule that says only a military academy can use "Anchor Down"? I know the "Commodore" the nickname is based off of wasn't really in the navy, but that rule would not make sense to me.

EDIT: Last second correction it's 14-7 Temple.

I think the rule is only service academies can use something other than last names. So for the other schools, it's player name or no name.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

that's probably HGI's newest process. it appears to be a satin finish (but i think they say its somewhere between true matte and satin) with a metallic paint underneath which really gives it a deep "not sure if matte or gloss" look. they have used it on a ton of helmets, almost everything Nike has done this year and maybe the Minnesota Vikings. you can really see it in the new gold Washington helmet http://www.huskiesnewera.com/uniforms?DB_OEM_ID=30200

I think that's just photoshop making it look that way

Always been a huge fan of Missouri State's primary logo and colors.

Never see the helmet before but this one is supremely done.

Feel free to move up to FBS anytime MSU.

They would have to make dramatic improvements to their program to move up. Their stadium is an absolute dump and the fan support for the football program here in Springfield is minimal.

I will say that helmet is a dramatic improvement over the mess they've been wearing recently. Hopefully they use it predominantly this season.
