College Football Uniforms - 2015 Season

Looks like my old high school team.

This has to be one of the worst presentations for a D1 football uniform that I've ever seen.

Meh, UNLV posted photoshoped templates that they more than likely found here. Completely bush league.

Yeah, you're right. Those were bad too. You've got to put your best foot forward with this kind of stuff. Especially if you are trying to hype it via social media.

It's not very often that promotional images make a product look worse than it actually is -- terrible lighting which distorts the colors; probably taken with a cell phone; rough/jagged edges all around the cutout player; wearing a lineman's facemask (as if he were a lineman); without a chinstrap... etc. It just all feels lazy, sloppy, and rushed.

I may be overreacting and suppose I should withhold my official judgment until the official release.

My NFL concept series (in progress) --ATL, CLE, NE, WAS done. AZ updated 04/21/23.

Someone on Twitter posted this picture of supposedly Arizona State's new uniform. Something about it just doesn't look right though. It looks like it might be Adidas's old jersey template.

That was the placekeeper that was posted months ago.

ASU players and administration got to see the new unis today and the reception seems pretty positive, FWIW. I still don't expect much, but who knows?

As someone else pointed out, Bowling Green isn't even using its custom font and numbers. Is that because Adidas has the rights to them or something?

It's a possibility depending on what they signed when adidas redid the logos. Their last set ignored custom numbers though as well.

I didn't know Duke was going back to the Indianapolis Colts stripes (notice the new ACC logo) ...I'm happy:

11817132_10102198128539992_848875603766111057508_10102198128535002_7407391771976

What kind of template is that? It looks like a mix between Duke's old template and an Elite 51 one.

I'm in phone, so those pictures are a little bit more blurry, so I could be mistaken.

It's the exact same one Ole Miss and LSU have that allows the stripes to be extended.

Those are Speed Machine templates (same as the Elite 51, that is just the term they use for the NFL jerseys - they were introduced by Oregon in the BCS title game in January 2011 v. Oregon). Duke also has FINALLY!! switched from catalog jerseys to Nike's custom/designer jerseys (you can tell by looking at the sizing tags on other photos floating around the Internet - 40, 42, 44 instead of M, L etc.) This means that Vanderbilt is the only team left of the 44(?) Nike teams in the Power 5 conferences to still use catalog Nike jerseys, as far as I am aware.

Also, though there aren't any great pictures out there yet, it appears that Duke's white helmets are now using chrome decals and striping (like the black ones) and the white helmets have switched from gray to blue facemasks. The jerseys have been updated to the newer template and now use the updated Duke block lettering and updated nameplates and numbers, though for some reason the numbers are standard block and not Nike's modified block that it introduced when doing it's cleanup of Duke's logos in 2011 for all sports. Also, the Iron Duke D is now what appears to be a rubberized patch put on the collar.

Last year's uniforms were always intended to be a one off to honor the 25th anniversary of the 1989 ACC Championship. It leaked out a year ago when the 2014 jerseys came out that Duke would then switch back to its prior jerseys with updated materials. Duke FB equipment's Twitter feed already mentioned that it recently met with the Nike reps for 2016 and no changes were planned. Maybe they will change the number font to match every other Duke sport with modified block instead of standard block. (The 2s, 5s, and 7s are most notably different).

Okay, given the current state of football uniform cuts, we need to start issuing a separate set of jerseys for media photos and events where pads aren't worn. Give the players replica-cut jerseys for shots like this, because they look like complete dinguses in it with their super-form fitting RevoTechShockSpeed Performance Apparel.

Or quit wearing jerseys to media days...

I have seen one of the unis...thankfully not as bad as what Adidas has released in recent days. From what has been shared with me, what was shown to players/coaches was not everything Adidas has in store for ASU. I'm taking that as there's probably a special combo saved up for the future...maybe Oregon or Territorial Cup.

With the release of the new white and gold jerseys to replace the old ones, I think Vandy has moved out of that category. I think the new jerseys are custom. I haven't seen any other team with a similar design and it's not a 'fill in the template'-type jersey.
