TorinK92
Is there a business that treats its best customers worse than the NHL does? The league seems to be entirely focused on getting as many new fans as possible, then they don't bother to get them to stay. HedleyLamarr
Did CBC own the Kraft Hockeyville rights?I've been seeing the games on NBC advertising voting for this. Has the contest been opened up to both Canada and the US now? Are the rights now owned by NBC or by the NHL and both NBC and Rogers get to be co-sponsors? No more automatic spots for division standings please! They're all best of seven series and you're going to have to meet sometime if you want to get to the Stanley Cup finals. Division seeded playoffs are fine.I like it because it should really build up rivalries even more. Blues were up 2-0 on Blackhawks last year and lost 4-2, now they could meet again in first round? Love it.I mean the Blues seemed to have something going with the Kings and Blackhawks-Canucks was a thing, but regional rivalries are more appealing to me. Meeting in the playoffs regularly is so much better than meeting regularly in the regular season. And the former might make the redundancy of the latter more fun.Sincerely, casual-compared-to-most-members-here hockey fan.

Because to me they all sound really cunty. Like, do these guys want to play anywhere? Toronto sucks because there's too much pressure. New Jersey sucks because there's not enough pressure. You can't play for Phoenix because they might move to Canada. You can't play for Winnipeg because they're already in Canada. Edmonton is too small. New York is too big. Buffalo is too cold. Florida is too hot. Montreal is too French. Quebec is so French that it's off the map altogether. Where do these coked-up pricks want to be? I'm sorry we couldn't cut the whole league down to Los Angeles, Carolina, and Anaheim, the only three locales that I haven't heard associated with any sort of bitching. 1 Quote ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

I mean, we all know he's a sack of crap on the ice, but he must be doing something dreadful off of it to get perma-benched from AHL action. kiwi_canadian
I totally agree! If you didn't want to deal with the pressures of being a professional athlete, then why are you one? These guys need to get their heads out of their rear ends and be bloody grateful that they are doing what they love and are being paid ridiculous amounts of money for it as well. Comes with the job. If you don't like it, then quit.

The_Admiral
I think Jack Johnson was a weird case because of how his career was kind of sputtering with the Kings. Exception that proves the rule. But right now, the Kings and Ducks have the holy trinity of championship traditions, nice weather, and low pressure. That's tough to compete with. Sodboy13
In two weeks, Las Vegas has found 7,000 of the 10,000 people it wanted to drop down a $150 refundable deposit on potential NHL season tickets. Hey, that seems very, very bad! I bet the league won't be holding any guns to heads about it like they did with Winnipeg, though! That means they got the other 2,000 in about 12 and a half days. Seems like there are about 5,000 passionate hockey fans in Las Vegas. That sounds like the right number for an ECHL team. That's tough to compete with.Jack Johnson hated living in LA for all the regular reasons people hate living in LA. Plus, I don't think his attitude fit in with the rest of the dressing room. The irony now is that Jack Johnson was excited to get to Columbus because he'd be closer to family, but as it turns out moving closer to Michigan just meant they were now able to literally steal money out of his pockets rather than stealing from him from across the country through shadier channels. and f*** Jeff Carter forever, but if there was ever a hockey player born to play for Los Angeles, it's that douche. Those two are a match made in d***head heaven.
