Clemson winning this game pretty much assures that the ACC was, top to bottom, the best conference this season. You could easily make the case that Clemson, Florida State and Louisville would be playoff teams in some sort of expanded playoff.

The SEC has Alabama... and that's it really. It's not a knock on Alabama... it's a knock on the conference that didn't have a team that could go toe to toe with Alabama.

What a damn game. I didn't really have a dog in the fight, though I have been pulling slightly for Clemson because I'm tired of Alabama getting all the titles.

Way to go Clemson Tide.

Wow. They hadn't beaten Bama in 111 years. Good for them, and I'm happy to see someone different win the title.

Watson and Williams' stock skyrocketed tonight. Allen's stock plunged.

As lost as Jalen Hurts looked in that second half, it's scary how dangerous Alabama will still be next year. I think Clemson will be having a hard time with Louisville and Florida State next year and the SEC West will be as bad as it was this year. I don't think changing coordinators hurt Alabama's offense because they  were just as ineffective 8 days ago. You could see the defense not expecting to still be in a fight in the 4th quarter. They were trying too much at the end instead of playing who was in front of them. Penn State is top of the Big Ten this year but I think we'll see Ohio State on top IF, and that's a gargantuan IF, they can get the receivers and O Line to step forward beyond where they were this year. I feel like the SEC East will be better but still not up to beating Alabama. USC will be the sexy pick for the PAC-12 but I hope Washington stays up as well. Spring Days can't get here soon enough.

Let's not go overboard on the ACC lovefest. You're saying an expanded playoff would include two 3-loss teams:  Florida State who lost to UNC and were blown out 63-20 by Louisville, and then Louisville themselves, who ended the season with losses to Houston and Kentucky (and couldn't find the end zone against LSU in the Citrus Bowl)?

It is what it is.
