They also make silver.. and it's different

I find it amusing how everyone hates on their "green" pants, but refuse to acknowledge their blue helmets..

Because that’s the shade of silver they should be using for everything.

The blue silver is great, the green silver is the odd man out.  It was only chosen in the first place because it looked more like the blue silver on television, and is now Ill-suited to the HD era.

Understood, my issue is that they also use true silver (pants worn with navy jersey), and other teams use silver.. the cowboys' helmet is distinctly metallic silver blue.. old photos really highlight the color it was supposed to match with the old powder-blue-looking pants.. in some situations, sure it looks pretty "silver".. in others, I see a metallic light powdery blue.. maybe it's because I've seen it on computer renderings from Riddell and in Riddell/Schutt catalogs, etc (where they really display the blue nature of the paint), but that's how my eyes see it.. it'd be easy for them to just wear silver and call it silver, but they do neither..

The fundamental problem at the core of the Chargers uniforms remains the striping on the bolt. It ought to be reversed. Putting the powder blue next to the gold doesn't contrast enough, creating a green effect when viewed at a distance.

I agree in this application, but other situations may facilitate deviation from this.. perhaps the desire to use powder numbers and use navy to separate powder and gold would lead to gold outlines touching the white jersey and creating that visual noise that may be undesirable.. just a hunch, but either way, the bolt looks better your way

That I understand. I just think this is still the baseline flaw because its the same bolt on the helmet, jersey, pants, and media.

I hope this means that they're going to ditch their navy blue pants completely and tweak their white pants to match the new powder blue primary colors.

Come on, you know very well that they're going mono Navy twice a year now.

None of it is needed. Solid gold bolts on a white helmet was a great look. The dark colors tone down the brightness and electricity of the bolts.

I still don't have a website, but I have a dribbble now! http://dribbble.com/andyharry

They've never worn solid gold bolts because the gold fades into the white without an outline. They've had single black/blue outlines like on the Color Rush uniforms, which looked great.

So conflicted. On one hand, one less navy team, a right decision to differentiate from the Rams and the yellow facemask is clean AF.

On the other hand, F.U. Spanos. </urinatingtree>

As for the white helmet Texans, I'm not sold on them.

I’ve talked a LOT of :censored: about the Chargers over the past couple of years because they’re a downright trash organization who deserves every bit of the negativity they get tossed their way.

That being said, this is the best move they’ve made probably ever. That is an absolutely fantastic look, and for me personally, it jumps them to the very top of the league (at least at home). They’re gonna look awesome playing road games in Carson next season.

Now move move back to San Diego, you idiots.
