Sabres website has a lot on the anniversary jersey:  https://www.nhl.com/sabres/fans/50th-season-commemorative-jersey

overall i like it a lot.  Colors look great, logo looks clean and cool with the extra stuff on the buffalo.  I'm generally not a fan of white gloves, but these look alright with the cuffs, and thankful they didnt go white pants too as was a rumor.

also from that site is confirmation that navy is gone next year:

The Golden Season also holds significance in that the Sabres will be wearing their current navy uniforms for the final time. Beginning in 2020-21, the team will return to royal blue as its primary color.

They have this picture too and i can't tell what it's from.  I thought maybe the pants logo but the blue looks too different to be just a lighting thing.

The fur texture on the front of the buffalo is spectacular.  They could easily retain this detail on a white version without having to change the flat application of the logo.  Hope this detail finds its way on the upcoming royal blue jerseys.

Vegas deserves some credit for this.

If their uniforms didn't use actual metallic gold, I have a feeling these would be that awful Penguins and Saints-esque beige.

Well akchtually......   The Sens had the gold in their 3rd jersey.  Vegas the first to use it in a full time H&A

Point being, the fabric has been around, just not used appropriately.

Only took 51 years but the class of 1970 is finally pretty damn close to perfection*

*unless the sabres do something to completely screw up the return to royal blue

Looking back at their entire uniform unveiling history, it's a 50/50 coin flip.

It's the Sabres.  They finally have a chance to do what their fans have been clamoring for for more than 20 years.  Of course they're going to screw it up.  Royally.

Are the Kings' unis great? No. Is their logo lackluster? Yes.  But they shouldn't change anytime soon.

They went on a crazy playoff run to win The Cup almost immediately after dropping the old uniforms and embracing the black and silver color scheme. The Kings have never had an identity that has stuck for more than a decade without some sort of changes. The Gretzky-era identity was probably their best, and, outside of their current set, the most memorable. Two Stanley Cups within a few years of rebranding has to count for something.

Even though I'm not too fond of the look, I don't see the Kings changing for a while and I hope they don't. Purple and yellow/gold is a color scheme that I would love to see in the NHL but the Kings identity is black and silver and it should stay that way.

I agree that they probably won't be changing anytime soon, but I do wish that they adjust the black jersey to match the white.

The Penguins also used a more metallic fabric prior to Edge.

Obviously that fabric existed during the Edge era, but Reebok didn't care (Nike in the NFL won't use it either). I wonder if Vegas demanded that Adidas let them use a metallic gold fabric.

The spectacular anniversary jersey and the fact they are finally listening about the royal blue makes me think they've turned a corner.  Could just be wishful thinking though.

The Senators use it on their home and road crest, though, right?

I still don't have a website, but I have a dribbble now! http://dribbble.com/andyharry

No demands, it was just the most obvious choice considering the team name.

Could you imagine the kind of betrayal that would be felt if he tried to move the team out of Pittsburgh?

See (this is just my thought on it), HAD the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and City of Pittsburgh F'd over Lemieux / Burkle and the Pens Franchise and not came up with a way to finance the Pens NEW Arena,  I wouldn't have blamed Lemieux / Burkle for relocating the Franchise to Kansas City (Pens played a pre-season game at the Sprint Center and were the Heavy favorite to get the Franchise IF they were to move).

- Lemieux was told by both State and City officials to find his own way to build the Arena
(HUGE reason I despise former Pens Owner howard baldwin (overhauling the uniforms was the first domino to fall in his ass hattery of Ownership) is that he felt the 40yr old Civic Arena was still a good Arena and didn't Jump on the PLAN B bandwagon that got the Pirates and the Steelers new stadiums)
- PA was bringing Slots / Casino Gambling to the State, Lemieux partnered with Isle of Capri Casino. IOC Pledged (right of the bat) $290 million (NO Tax Payer Dollars used) to build the Pens new Arena IF they were to win the Pittsburgh Slots License (Pens were picking up cost overruns). IOC did not Win!
- PA selected (the only minority in the running) Casino Owner Don Barden as the Pittsburgh Slots / Casino holder, Barden originally scoffed at the notion of helping to build the Pens new arena. Later agreed to it! Shortly after Construction on Arena and Casino began, Barden Defaulted on his Loans and was stripped of the Pittsburgh License. Construction continued on the Arena but was halted on the Casino. Guess what, the Tax Payers now had to foot the bill to help build the Pens new Arena

So had all this crap fell apart, I wouldn't have blamed :Lemieux one bit IF he was forced to Relocate the Franchise
