I don't remember the wordmark being so severely slanted on the Olajuwon era jerseys.  Maybe that's because the Rockets weren't sure what they were shooting for back then.

Horizontal (or pretty damn close to horizontal) --

Slightly diagonal (and starting closer to the numbers) --

Extremely diagonal --

The Rockets improved slightly I guess. I will never understand why teams put a stroke around the wordmark, but not the numbers. They should be consistent because they are right next to each other. My biggest pet peeve on basketball jerseys.

The main 3 jerseys look a bit bland and remind me of the old Adidas replicas. Just put a thick stripe down the side and call it a day.

All they had to do is follow the damn train add white jersey to earned and statement. These uniforms are nothing special at all. Look like generic cheap set from aliexpress. Try again Rockets. Try again.

Throwback look the best, but of course similar to Hornets nike can't do a proper font for NOB, which sucks! Why nike? Is that hard to do this?

is the global logo idea a nike thing? also does the global logo make it a requirement to have basketball somewhere it in?

I think this is a NBA thing, not a Nike thing. Even when they wore adidas I think it was a rule.

how does their global logo have more grey then red, but the unis are mostly red? instead of home whites why not light greys as home? most teams are reluctant on wearing whites anyway. then theres no uniqueness to the font just bold. they had the opportunity to have something pretty neat but dropped it. the lowest common denominator is the worst.

Because the association (or is it icon?) has to be white, even the lakers can’t get away from that.

Fair enough, just a thought. like how Milwaukee could have a pale cream home uni would look pretty clean. Just feels like a lost opportunity. White sets just feel lazy

Houston Rockets Unveil New Uniforms, Bring Back Classic Look for 2020

June 21, 2019 - 14:25 PM

The Houston Rockets unveiled three new uniforms during their NBA Draft party last night with promises of a fourth still to come. Simplifying things is the overall theme of the new look to the team, the wordmark across the chest […]

The set would look interesting, if they avoided black altogether. Just off the overuse from everyone else in the league. And since theyre leaning on the space motif for their unveiling. How about different shades of red and greys, like the away set could be dark red with that bright red and some dark grey trim. (I wish I knew how to use Photoshop)

Agreed.  You can somewhat tell from the background that is a mashup of pictures.  However, I think the Hakeem part is legit.

Wow, these are actually surprisingly bad and I already totally expected them to be terrible.

How many people have already said they wanted more yellow? I would have liked more yellow. Why did they need to add black? It seems to me red, yellow, and grey would have been a pretty solid color scheme.

These aren't great, but they're not terrible. I'm just wondering why, when the Raptors winning the championship just a week ago, now we have another red and black team. It feels a little bit like bad timing.
