Los Angeles NFL Brands Discussion

As I said in another thread:

I'd love for the Rams to go to the White and Light blue (Cold Rams). Late 60's to early 70's.

Love their white & blues, they should use them at least twice a year as alts.

Realistically, other than the wordmark, I could see the Rams taking their time if any re-branding is done at all.

I think rebranding is inevitable, but as someone else noted, probably nothing major until 2019. The only actual change that needs to be made is changing the wordmark, and again, the city location was basically just thrown on top of the wordmark, so it will take a few seconds to change. I think a recoloring will likely happen this season or next.

But actually, I don't know if I want to see a radical Rams rebranding. I think they have a pretty good look now.

Just bring back the gold pants until they rebrand. I personally don't care if they're khaki/tan. That would look way better with their current navy blue jerseys than the white or blue pants do.

I think there is no way we ever see the Rams in Gold and Navy again, not even one game. I bet the league approves a uniform re-branding right away, and it will be return to an updated version of their Blue and Yellow look, with an alt jersey and three sets of pants (of course). Seeing all the LA fans in the old colors will seal it.

I'll throw in with the crowd. A return to the classic blue and yellow look is the way to go. I'll add the caveat that they finally get around to matching the helmet and jersey.

The mismatched helmet is more classic than Dallas' pants.

I have a horrible feeling they're going to go with red and/or orange and/or black in there somewhere.

I seriously doubt we will ever see them in St Louis Gold and Navy again - the leage and team will want to move on. I think throwbacks and yellow (Color Rush) alts will come back right away (league will waive rules and dump the old jerseys via sales.) And a new updated version in 2019 when they occupy the new stadium. It will probably get a SB that year or 2020 as well. And 2025, and 2030.

I think it's possible they will go back to their old colors but also add a new color (possibly black) to the scheme. NO WAY they go back to their old uniforms for multiple reasons. First they want to create a new identity in LA and not just cater to the old fans of the team but reach new fans in the area. Secondary if gives them another jersey to sell as a "classic" or "throwback" they can always use on occasion. They will want to have as many options on the table to sell to fans.

I'd be really surprised if the Rams didn't return to the gold and Royal.

As for the Chargers, I'd be stunned if they made ANY changes. That would require a bit of forward thinking, and probably a slight monetary commitment from Dean Spanos. Neither of those things are what he's about.

I really hope the Rams will return to their classic color scheme, but in the interim, I hope they burn their navy pants, put them in a dumpster, light them on fire again and never use navy/blue pants ever again.

Agreed with everything you said. They have to leave the current colors behind in St Louis. An updated version of the L.A. Rams uniform is the only option from this point:
