No sorry you’ve misunderstood me. I don’t hate Cleveland at all. I don’t love it, either. I really don’t give a single :censored: about Cleveland, either way. I usually forget that Ohio even has another large city other than Cincinnati. So trust me, just like the last time we had this convo, it’s not personal. I’m not hating on ya, skip 🙂

Im just saying that the branding package is hokey as all hell, and it replaces a branding package that was already hokey as all hell.

In fact, I’m bummed about this for the very opposite reason you’re mad at me about. Going with a name like Spiders and using some new colors, IMO, would elevate that franchise and give it a unique flair. Something even non Clevelanders would be interested in. All this does is move things sideways (or even further back) the n terms of outside interest.

Ok so it is your shtick - I get it now.  I'm not mad at you; just feel sorry that you don't have anything relevant to share.

That is interesting. Cincinnati is kind of an afterthought around here. Like if you asked me to list the cities in Ohio, I'd say Cleveland, Columbus, Toledo, Akron, Dayton............oh, and Cincinnati.

EDIT: For the record, Columbus is the biggest city in Ohio.

I’m willing to pay rent, if you’d like.

Yep, I think that's exactly what they were going for. As little change as possible. They succeeded in their goals I think. I know some would have wanted a bigger change, but knowing how Cleveland was reacting to the name change in general, the apparent local dislike of Spiders, and the team's desire to foster continuity while making a necessary change... I can't really fault what they've done. Of the two indigenous related renames we've seen this year, the Elks still did better, but I think part of that was having a more unique and interesting colorway to begin with.

For me it's Cleveland, then Cincinnati, then Columbus... and then throw in any other town/city

I saw, I came, I left.

Cincinnati is the first thing that comes to my mind when thinking about Ohio because of @Sportand because of the timeless classic sports action movie Airborne. This is probably 60% of my retained Ohio history.

The G wing isn't a bad secondary or tertiary logo, but it does feel like it's a bit of a imitation of the Angles winged "A" from their rebrand in the '90s. I also say the name sucks and wished they could've used the name "Tribe" instead since it's a little more vague and bland, but I'm sure incorporating many of the same Native imagery and visuals would be appropriation. I'm sure it's fine, but I'm not really a fan.

"And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life... You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. But don't worry... you will someday."

It's fine, honestly. The G ball logo is even kind of neat.

I just wish they would have gone with Spiders.
