Wow! I’m not a fan of the headspoon (although I don't think it looks quite as thin as I had feared), but everything else is an upgrade. The biggest relief is that "D-Backs" is no longer a part of the set, hopefully for good.

Although I've personally started to sour on the turquoise, as oppposed to sand, I am glad they finally settled on one color scheme, even if it's maybe not the one I would've chosen. On the positive side, it makes the City Connect stand out as more unique, while still keeping sand in the set to a degree.

Making the home uniform off-white was a great move. I also appreciate the heavier emphasis on sedona red, as the previous set was too black-heavy (adding sedona red caps to the road jersey was a huge upgrade). I think the full "Diamondbacks" looks a little too condensed for my liking, but it's honestly not as bad as I would've expected.

I’m honestly halfway convinced the team saw my concept for them & ran with it, but I’m not complaining:

Wow there are some real similarities between your concept and what was released.

I like it a lot! I’m SO happy the D Snake is back. I get some of the dislike for it, but it’s got historical precedent for the Diamondbacks. This may be my new favorite D Backs hat.

Just shrink the logo.

I can see why the D-Backs always shied away from using their full name on a jersey. It looks awkward as hell.

Overall I think it's a neat set. I'm glad they're leaning more towards the torque color.

I’d never liked the D-snake logo, but this hat honestly looks really nice. I’d just drop the all black ‘A’ cap at this point to be honest.

One thing I just noticed. That’s the old D Snake logo. Not sure I like that part of it, as the updated one from 07 is better imo.

Yeah I guess. I still think it’s inferior to the updated version.

Completely inferior, but more appropriate.

I never thought I’d miss the ‘07-‘15 set, but I do kind of miss it. It was an “A” on the home jersey away from being a good set for them. The “db” and the Arizona wordmark were pretty nice.

I actually really like what the Diamondbacks did. If we can't have purple and teal back this is the next best thing. And it's not half in half out like the last set. I actually kinda like the D snake *shrug* glad they kept the snake head on the sleeve to. Wonder if that remains on the BP cap. Glad they went with the A on the home jersey.  Black is my favorite of the 4.

I have a few nit picks but otherwise, well done Arizona.

I think of the 4 the all red DSnake is the least necessary, and probably the worst one too. Can easily just wear the black/red D one or the red A hat with the red jersey.

Same. They felt kinda stale by the time they changed, but I think it was mostly stale because they were terribad most of those years. Had they played better I think those would’ve stuck around a lot longer. Also, the change wasn’t really an improvement, and for the first few seasons was a mess. And even when they toned it down, it was still really disjointed

I remember really liking the initial change to brick, black, and sand. It was less flashy and a lot more understated than the previous set, which was a good thing (not to mention that the color palette was PERFECT for a Phoenix Area team), but it still kept a lot of the cool elements from the former branding. The only thing I didn’t like about it is the same thing you didn’t like. The home D backs wordmark. I know there’s a love for the 90s style purple and teal, but the 07-15 set is probably what they should’ve started with coming out of the gate, and I still think think it’s their best ever look.

I’m kind of sad that the sand is being replaced, but I’m cool with it being for turquoise/teal. That’s a really unique color in the league, a throwback to the original set, and a nod to the local culture. It was basically going to be impossible to merge the two color schemes together fully, but this is a decent solution.

So was the original, the teal, black and copper tied into the state metal and mineral of Arizona, and the purple tied into sunsets.  It was also the best colour scheme that peyote could buy, and it being so loud was perfect. I would put forward the 2001 home sleeveless uniform as the best use of purple and teal in sports, that uniform was awesome.

The new set is good, but I would take an update of the original set over it without question.

Moving to a consistent color scheme (and one that shifts them away from their mid-2000s Astros dress-up scheme) is a big win.

The execution … I do not love.

I'm glad they leaned into the turquoise look, and I like almost this entire set with the exception of the off-white home jersey. The black piping gives the whole thing a generic teamwear feel, and it's the one set in which the turquoise feels forced. The contrast of bright turquoise outlining the logo next to off-white is unpleasant.

Same notes too.

Have they finally darkened the turquoise, or is it just the difference in the use of it, the concentration of it, and the lack of white bordering it?

The black stands out to me as the best.  But it's the most uniform in its use of the color scheme.  The only color to touch black is turquoise: the piping, Nike logo, and outlines of the logos.

Meanwhile, the red alt mixes black-on-red with the piping and number and turquoise-on-red with the cap, wordmark, and Nike logo.  I don't know if the D would work switched, but switching the wordmark colors would go a long way to cohesion.  (The Nike logo takes turns on different uniforms across the league matching the outline or inside of wordmarks depending on balance and whim of the designers.)  The new wordmark looks lovely, although I have no idea why instead of going with the established outer-K fang and the I they came up with a new K to go with the A.

The away gray does seem the weakest, the turquoise not looking good against the gray and not seeming to fit with the entire rest of that uniform.  The easiest remedy is to just remove it, but then you've got the exact problem they've been having with different color schemes on different uniforms.  I do think that the plack piping makes no sense and instead they should have gone with piping like the red alt.  Have the two wordmark uniforms look alike and cut down on the disjointedness.

And the home has the same problem of the outline washing out against the base.  The problem is that it seems they do not under any circumstances want to change the logo.  I think they'd be better served switching it up depending on the application, something they did in their 98-07 sets.  Switching the black and turquoise on the chest could be given a try.

But I wanted them to go red and purple, the purple replacing the black on the A.  The two tones aren't used in the majors and go well together.  Purple belongs in the Diamondback's identity, but Sedona Red fits so well.  Someone mentioned earlier the disparate identities of the two colors, so why not both?  They may have been birthed a primarily purple team, but I think with the long time off the Rockies should really be the ones in the division to lay claim to that color, but as a secondary to red it wouldn't feel like having too much overlap.

Still feel like off-white was unnecessary, as were vest jerseys.

I... didn't even realize it wasn't white.  It looked like a lighting matter, save for the buttons.  The old creams seemed more like a sand thing than a retro thing, although famously the region was full of old-time NL fans leading to them joining the NL instead of the AL like every previous expansion so it may have been with that in mind/old-timey minor-league teams in the region I assume existed.

So are all the pants cream, or are we doing the ol' extra white pants for the alternates even though we don't wear whites with our "home whites" thing?

I argued that they should have added front numbers to all the jerseys in this set. The more I look at the new home jersey, the more naked it looks without them.

If it were wordmarks across the board, that would have been one thing, but having the split Nationals or Reds style chest logo on one side and numbers on the other feels like it would make things feel even more jumbled.

I immediately saw this and thought that that red A hat would be the first to completely disappear (see the orange Astros hat).
