Players in the "wrong" uniforms

Not necessarily a legend, but a fan favorite...

Darren McCarty, Calgary Flames.

Oddly enough, I'm wearing my McCarty Flames t-shirt right now.

I have no problem with that look--he was one of their best players in the playoffs that year.

Comic Sans walks into a bar, and the bartender says, "Sorry, we don't serve your type here."

Terry Metcalf - Toronto Argonauts:

Nothing wrong with that--that's how I remember him.

When was he with the Argos? Was it a situation where money lured him, or something that he did as his career winded down to keep playing?

Yes it was money. He left St. Louis at the peak of his career. You can learn more here.

It's a cool site, and that salary was part of the beginning of some CFL teams foolishly thinking they could compete with the money pouring into the NFL. It wasn't as a big a deal then as it has since become (The NFL's money making), but there was still a big difference. In the 60's & before the NFL wasn't there yet & the CFL could compete--but in the 70's some teams got foolish--and nearly derailed the CFL in the process.

I remember that the Alouettes signed Vince Ferragamo:

and James Scott:

...to contracts right around the same time.

And although he's no legend, here's Sasha Pavlovic for the jazz too:
