And the Flames are in the same position but the Schedule makes gave us only 4 games left.

Don't blame the schedule maker when you had 78 other games to get the job done. The guy only makes the schedule, it's the job of the team to win those games.

Don't be such an oddball, you know durn well that it's never the fault of the team in question for why they don't make the playoffs; it's the fault of the schedule makers, refs, zamboni guy for making terrible ice, and Steve Bartman.

Does anybody know any good cardiologists in the greatest Boston area? Zdeno Chara continues to show no heart and I just want to make sure the big guy is alright.

and that Rangers-Flyers game is on NBC. This isn't a joke, the last three games I can remember watching on NBC were all Flyers-Rangers games. There are 28 other teams, NBC.

In other news, the Blue Jackets were officially eliminated tonight. I feel nothing. In my eyes, they've been out since their disastrous road trip out west in early March.

Leafs beat Boston in a shootout. Great game!

Playoffs or not, I'm optimistic about the Leafs' future. They managed to hold their own against an elite East team tonight, and come out on top. Not to shabby.

The NHL, according to NBC:

Penguins

Blackhawks

Rangers

Flyers

Capitals

Bruins

Red Wings

I'd say they get pretty decent exposure for a 7-team league. :P

In a way, though, you can't blame them. Obviously, they've decided that these are the only teams that will capture enough eyeballs to justify the coverage. And with NBC in the ratings and programming hole they're in, they're not going to even consider pairing one of these top-market teams with an emerging market with a decent following - say, Nashville or Tampa Bay. Maybe the Stars or Blues start getting booked if they get back into the playoffs. But you'll never see a Canadian team, because that's throwing away half the potential viewership right off the bat. And with NBC starting the games at 9:30am Pacific to ensure they can give adequate coverage to golf, gymnastics, and bull riding, they're not going to book any of the West Coast teams, either.

I still say the guy who has impressed me this year with a solid season, is the Maple Leafs goaltender James Reimer. He's not spectacular, yet he wins and just to me seems like the type of goaltender you build around and will stick around for 10-12 years. With him in net and a few more solid pickups like Joffrey Lupol, I think the Leafs will do fine. Some of the moves that Burke has made, just make you shake your head. I think they are still a couple years away from making the playoffs, but who knows maybe like the Kings, the players will get it and get in a year earlier than expected.

Yeah, no Sharks even though they have been really well the past few years. Seriously I'm tired of seeing the Rangers on over and over again. They have to be one of the most boring teams in the league. Say what you want about Crosby and Ovechkin, but at least they are interesting and exciting.

Also, Sharks slaughter the Stars along with their playoff hopes tonight.

You can't use an adverb on a state of being. But hey, glad the Sharks won and kept the Stars down. I was getting really worried about that crappy Stars team making it into the playoffs. Now I just have to worry about that crappy Ducks team. Oh well.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Reimer is easily the key piece in the Leafs' rebuilding process. For the first time since Belfour the Leafs have a solid, no questions asked number one goalie. He's the future for the team at that position. Which is why I have a sinking feeling the Leafs will deal him away for two third round picks or something.
