First jersey I wore was on my first team - Westfort Pipe Trades (mid to late 1970's). We had the purple one for my first few years - cotton blended with rayon or something; We switched to a red polyester doubleknit style one for my last year with the team.

First replica jersey I had was in the 1980's - a polyester doubleknit style blue Buffalo Sabres one. It has long come apart, but I reused the crest and patches on another jersey.

Troy Aikman jersey from Champion (I think?) I was maybe 6, and my father bought me and my older brother matching jerseys. This was before the Cowboys switched the numbers on their jerseys from grey to white. I wore it so much that all the screen printing flaked off. A few year ago a friend gave me the same jersey he had as a kid and was in really good shape. I don't know what happened to either jerseys.

Why did you become a Packers fan? Just to be a douche? :P

Neither of my parents have ever given a flying fluff about sports, so I was pretty much left to my own devices, and somehow concluded when I was 3 years old that I was a Packers fan. My dad speculates it had to do with their bright colors catching my eye. Stuck with them. Through all these years, and it certainly would have been easy to become a Bears fan when I was in second grade and they won the Super Bowl.

The closest my dad has been to being a "fan" of any sports team is the Pittsburgh Steelers, because he worked for a few steel companies and loved the logo. He also really digs the Lansing Lugnuts based solely on name and logo.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

Wow, and I thought I was the only one.

Excellent topic nash61,

My first jersey as the full set like these, but only for the L.A. Raiders back in the early 90's.

My first real jersey was a Dallas Cowboys Troy Aikman current away jersey, way back in '96. I was 5 and loved it. Still have it to this day in fact, but most of the numbers have flaked off. I would wear that sucker all the time.

Cowboys - Lakers - LAFC - USMNT - LA Rams - LA Kings - NUFC

My 1st jersey was an OJ Simpson blue rookie jersey, but it was his rookie number 36 that he only wore in the 1969 preseason.

There was OJ-mania going on when he arrived and I pleaded for his jersey for Christmas.

There used to be department stores in Buffalo known as AM&A's, and my mom found them in the bargain basement so she came home and shocked me when pulling it out of one of the many bags she brought home. I was happier than a pig in s**t.

What she didn't know at the time is that the reason they were moved to the bargain basement was that OJ got his number 32 given to him after the preseason when Gary McDermott got cut, so I'm sure there had to of been a big sale on the remaining # 36's .... Me, I didn't care, I loved it and wore the heck out of it when playing outside.

It all worked out even better, cuz for Christmas my parents ended up buying me a red AHL Buffalo Bisons hockey jersey ... with the bottle-cap Pepsi logo with the Buffalo word-mark. That one rocked and was what today would be classified as an authentic !!

I remember it like it was yesterday: Img5884.jpg?1283160219Img5890.jpg?1283160283

Christmas morning, Rod Strickland jersey, Champion screen printed. And it was HUGE because he wasn't a big enough name for Champion to make kids sizes so my dad Santa had to get me an adult one. But I wore it all the time anyway!

They were a weird material, the mesh had tiny holes and it almost had a sandpaper-like feel compared to the mesh they use now.

Logo 7. They did the K-Mart/Wal-Mart jerseys back then.

That's who did my Steve Young jersey too.

Christmas 1990, I remember our family wasn't doing well at all - to this day I still associate breakfast for dinner with being poor. My siblings and I got one present each that year. Mine was an authentic Mariners jersey. They even got 24 on it but couldn't afford the name. Needless to say I wore the hell out of it all through junior high. My siblings presents were pretty special that year. my kid sister got the malibu barbie house and my baby brother got his first bike. We all still talk about that Christmas being one of the best ever in our childhoods.

I wish I had held on to the jersey, or kept the front script (I did manage to keep the crest from the Canucks jersey I got in 94 and have it sewn onto the back of a jacket)

My first real jersey that i remember was a '97 Terrell Davis #30 Home Navy Blue Broncos jersey.

The First Hockey jersey i had was a white Avs...

I'm not from Colorado, either just so you know.

My first jersey was a Bruins black replica jersey (the pre-1995 version), which I got for Christmas in 1993. My godfather got it for me, but unfortunately, I outgrew it less than a year later. I think I ended up giving it to my little cousin at some point, so as far as I know, it's still in the family.
