Anyone else get the feeling that Cam Newton may be the best player in the NFL? Just imagine if he was playing for the Colts or something. They might actually be competitive.

No. Nobody else gets that feeling.

hahah you don't fire the dean of NFL coaches to replace him with Marty Mornhinweg. Quote my post when I'm wrong, but...

When the dean of NFL coaches is a fat version of Norv Turner, you fire him all day.

Never been a big Andy Reid fan myself and definately think his coaching has cost the Eagles more games then its won them.

When your 1-3 with that team I'm failing to see what you have to lose. I'll put up with Marty for a game or two until I can land a guy who I want and there's enough names out there and the Eagles have enough talent where they can get a big name.

Eagles fan here. Reid is as inept on game day as he has always been. Mistakes are just magnified now that the checkbook has been opened up.

Good thing the Eagles learned from their divisional brethren down 95 that being the free agency big splashers gets you nothing ...

Anyway, what happens when the Eagles and Bears play each other? Clinic on how not to coach, that is for certain.

Reid is going nowhere. He can do no wrong in the eyes of those that matter.

Start Stafford/Johnson next week. Megatron is going to absolutely jailhouse back alley violate the Bears secondary next Sunday.

Almost for six years I've put up with Tony Romo and all of his idiotic throws, trips to Mexico, and game costing fumbles. I put up with his "dumb face" after errant throws. But now it's time to put an end to this. Tony Romo is the ONLY reason the Cowboys are 2-2 this year. Please Garrett please put McGee in and bench Romo please. Draft a quarterback and trade or just frigging drop the guy. He's not worth the time. I've spent all of these years defending him after a stupid loss then looking like a jackass when he does the same thing over and over again. Get rid of Romo. These are the losses that just make you lol as a Cowboys fan. But then again we could still be the Rams.

OK, what's the official procedure for resigning as a Browns fan? Is there paperwork etc.? Do I need to file an official request with the home office or something? I've officially had enough.

Anyway...on to some thoughts on the 1pm games.

No one should be surprised that Cincy knocked off the Bills. Every "expert" I listened to on the radio this week said that a Bengals win was likely. No need to hop off the Bills bandwagon just yet. It was a "trap game" and Cincy isn't a bad team.

I've been saying it since the preseason and I'll say it again; these Detroit Lions aren't kidding around.

Philly loses to the 49ers? At home? Some dream team.

I'm with dfwabel on the Texans; talk to me when they're 8-2.

How bad are the Vikings? Might be time to hand permanently the reins over to Ponder.

Finally, I had the Panthers beating the Bears as my upset special. If the Panthers don't kick to Devin Hester, I'm probably right. The Panthers the perfect example of why I'm done with the Browns. The Panthers are going to lose more than they win, but at least they're exciting and you can see what's coming with them. Over the past few seasons, the Browns have replaced everything from GMs to players to coaches to uniforms yet they look exactly the same every season. A fan has to at least have some hope and there is none in Cleveland.

Off to the 4pm games. Go Raiders, Dolphins, and Packers.

They can move the ball to the 50 and Devin Hester can make the big play on kickoffs, and Cam Newton is good just imagine when the Panthers have a team around him.

Bengals dont have a shabby Defense and Andy Dalton may be a decent QB looks like Carson Palmer made a big mistake. Bill were due for a letdown after two dramatic comebacks.

Chris Johnson finally checked into the Titans and they are 3-1 looks like a two team race for the AFC South. Browns look like they have not plan and now answers lucky to be 2-2, could be 0-4.

The Detroit Lions are for real, not only are they 4-0 they can comeback on the road. This team could go all the way.

Tony Romo is the new Brett Favre he can win a game on guts and he can lose a game trying to force the big play.

The Texans are growing as they overcame the loss of Andre Johnson to beat the Steelers, but they need more discipline.

The Steelers have some issues on the O-Line.

Saints get a ho hum win. Jaguars are a ho hum team. Jacksonville is a ho hum city.

The roof is caving in on the Vikings again 0-4 and a loss to the Chiefs. It's time to Ponder starting Christian for Donovan.

Todd Haley has some issues, coaches quitting and now getting heated with the QB could lead to a shortened coaching career.

Sam Bradford looks more like a rookie this year than last year, and the Redskins may in fact be the team to beat in the NFC East with a solid Defense.

So much for the Dream Team, Michael Vick looks awful and that rookie kicker Alex Henery may soon be swiping an EBT card on the unemployment line.

The 49ers are 3-1 can some one explain this to me. It defies logic.

Is it too early to fire John Fox?

I think so and no way do I think his job is on the line for this season. He was brought in as a defensive guy and I think he's done a great job getting Denver's D to be at least decent compared to where they were last year when they were the worst in the NFL.

Denver's biggest problem has been Knowshon Moreno who I think they need to seriously begin to question whether or not he's the back of the future. He's good when healthy, but he is just forever hurt. They might even be 3-0 if he's healthy, because both of their losses where by a TD or less. I think its very possible a healthy Knowshown Moreno makes up the difference.

I've watched the Niners pretty close over the past few seasons, and I have to say that the Eagles should be in panic mode right now. This Niners team is AWFUL. No way should they beat a team as talented as Philly. But, it's only week 4. I've seen teams snooze longer than this and end up fine.

That sentiment is in jest, but I don't like what I've seen of him so far as coach.

Knowshon hasn't even been that good when healthy. He has no clue how to run the ball in the NFL. He's full speed from the second he gets the ball rather than being patient and letting holes develop. And in regards to the part of your post you added after I quoted you, no way does he make the difference in those games. McGahee has been much better than him.

edit: Goodness, I've come up with a case of Lights Out-itis. I make that post about John Fox and suddenly the Broncos score two TD's and claw their way back into the game.

Wow, the Seahawks need a running game as much as Charlie Sheen needs to go to rehab.

Any game last year where I saw Moreno at 100% he was pretty damn good. But that was also maybe six games. He only carried the ball more then 20 times four times last last year.

He's also a really good recieving back.

Its tough to say how good he can really be because he's never had a season where he's been 100% and he's not going to have one this year either. And Denver needs him, because McGahee isn't getting the job done and if he was they wouldn't be 28th in the league in rushing.

They did last year as well.

There was a reason Buffalo dumped Marshawn Lynch, who didn't do anything with the Seahawks before that game against the Saints last year, and hasn't done anything since either.

@ See Red (off topic) - aren't you the B-1 guy (I know, crazy guess from your sig)? On a recent flight ATL-SFO, I got to talking to another passenger who is a "Bone" pilot and it was pretty damn interesting to hear him talk about missions, threat suppression, etc. Nothing classified of course but I got a kick out of him saying they might get pinged by an enemy radar en route to a target and if they had ordnance left over, "we might drop by for a visit on the way back to base." Or, failing that, special forces gets coordinates and "in a week or two...boom!" :D Great stuff. Thanks for keeping 'em flying.

Okay, Saints. 503 yards total offense. Darren Sproles & Jimmy Graham had over 300 yards of it.

Pretty disappointed in their red zone performance but hey, no style points in the NFL. A W is a W.

The Raiders are playing themselves out of this game. So many stupid mistakes it's not even funny.

This team gives the Bears a good run for dumbest team in the NFL.

I think that the worst possible outcome for Bears fans this year is a 10-6 season. The team maybe misses the playoffs, but nothing gets addressed in the offseason because, hey, 10-6!

Also, this Lions team is fun. I don't know if they can last the whole season, but I'm rooting for them every week they aren't playing the Packers.
