Ken Cosgrove Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Wanted to see what that new Knicks wordmark would look like on a jersey:I don't like it. To me, it looks like a knockoff that's just not got it right.Yeah, looks like a college jersey somehow.

To me, it looks like a knockoff that's just not got it right.Hopefully the jerseys won't be THAT plain. They could just use their current trim and eliminate the black. POTD: 2/4/12 3/4/12

To me, it looks like a knockoff that's just not got it right.Yeah, looks like a college jersey somehow.I think the thing that throws off the look of the throwback Knicks jerseys for me is the lack of the side striping. Without it it just looks incomplete and overly plain for some reason.EDIT: What LO said. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)

Just add an orange side stripe with some white trim so that it's distinguished enough from the throwbacks, and more in the range of the current look.
Green27 Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Sorry, I must have missed something but what is that logo on the back of the new Knicks shirt? In the spot where the orange NYK used to be?It's this logo:but honestly I like the NYK "subway coin" logo better, even though MTA doesn't actually use them anymore.Ditto, and the reason why is best represented on those shirts. You can't even make out what the new secondary says on the Kidd shirt [at least I can't on my computer], while the old subway token logo is simple and clean enough that you can tell what it is.With that being said, I like the idea of the new token paying homage to one of the Knicks' older logos, but I think they could've tried something else, maybe a twist on their old apple logo? Thanks for filling me in. I'm sad to see the subway token logo go because I feel that signals even more black-listing of the black in their color scheme.
TruColor Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 RGB-optimized version of the new(ish) secondary mark:

vmd9 Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I know I'm in the minority and the Knicks have history an all, but I wish they would use a wordmark that matched the actual knicks logos better. Instead of the standard serif block font. I mean the main logo already has arched text, just make it less 3-dimensional.
nyk Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 If ya'll notice. The wordmark on last season warmup shirts is the same wordmark as the Jason Kidd tee. Also remember all of the Knicks on court apparel had the new logo on it except the uniform. I think its safe to say if there is a uniform change next season, this will be the new wordmark.
truepg Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 That new wordmark is an upgrade, IMO. Eager to see the new unis, if they are coming, that is.
BBTV Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Not that we already didn't know this last offseason when the other jerseys were leaked, but here's the new Sixers blue jersey that they will definitely debut this year. From RealGM via google image search "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed."
Fox Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I like that Sixers blue jersey much more than their red one. Wouldn't mind if it became the full-time road jersey.
Telemundo219 Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I know I'm in the minority and the Knicks have history an all, but I wish they would use a wordmark that matched the actual knicks logos better. Instead of the standard serif block font. I mean the main logo already has arched text, just make it less 3-dimensional.You and me both cause I agree with you. They should use the New York font they have in the logo (at the top). It would be something fresh from the standard block font but as well have a tie in to the teams current logo and stuff. Would someone be able to actually mock that up? College sports as we know them are just about dead. The lid is off on all the corruption that taints just about every major program and every decision that the schools or the NCAA make is only about money, money, and more money. We'll have three 16+ team super-conferences sooner rather than later, killing much of the regional flair and traditional rivalries that make college sports unique and showing the door to any school that doesn't bring money to the table in the process. Pretty soon the smaller schools are going to have to consider forming their own sanctioning body to keep the true spirit of college sports alive because the NCAA will only get worse in it's excess from here
The Nation Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Can't believe no ones mentioned the USA dream team jerseys. Atrocious shorts. Looks decent from the front.
JPDesign Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 What's interesting is if you look back at the photo shoots, they weren't two tone shorts. They had a stripe matching the jerseys:Looks much better that way IMO. Brasil was sporting the same Nike template against the US the other night:
Billy B Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Yeah, those shorts look horrible. The white ones could even get confusing playing someone that's in blue. And this isn't the Dream Team.
TGroce Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 those have to be fake. No adidas tags and the cut looks awful
