I'd say like the Dolphins did to their logo, if they weren't tweaking it again now:I’m sure you’re probably right about the Norseman logo, Goth, but I’m probably not capable of seeing it.I met my wife 14 years ago when she was 23, and IMO the hottest woman alive. She’s 37 now, and an outside observer could, I’m sure, look at “then and now” photos and point out all the ways she has aged, but I’ll never see it. She’s my wife and I can’t see it in any other light than the one I’ve always seen her in. (In case you’re wondering, I’m not saying this because I think she’ll read it… she won’t. She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)The Vikings’ logo is kinda the same. My oldest memory of it is on Bud Grant’s purple windbreaker in the early 70’s. It was a plain purple jacket, no stripes, and the Norseman head was plain white (no gold, no black, no flesh-color) with purple lines. It knocked me out that the Vikings would have one logo on their helmet, and this completely different logo somewhere else. I thought that was completely unique… like it was Bud Grant’s personal Viking logo.I think this is why fans of a team have such a different perspective on what a team should be wearing. A non-Browns fan can find the plain orange helmet to be boring and stupid, but a Browns fan will tell you it’s none of your damn business.That said, I’m open to a careful, subtle modernization of the logo. Houston and Tennessee are southern states while Indianapolis is the mid-south, BUT it is the mid-west as well because they are next door to Ohio which Ohio is next door to Kentucky!For anything, the Rams will move to L.A. The Jaguars are not moving to L.A., they are moving elsewhere to concede with the silly southern market.You know, the NFL can change which teams are in which divisions. They've tweaked some things over the years but it's always had the same basic design. I hope that holds true for this logo. I just want it to look somewhat like it always has.
