2013 NBA Playoffs

No question that was the right choice. In theory I could go outside with the ticket stubs from 5 other people and pass them out to five friends outside. Obviously that's not what was going on, but that's a tough line to draw. I hope the talk in Miami is not about "those jerks would not let people back in who paid their hard-earned money."

That's always seemed like a really strange policy to me that you can't leave and re-enter. It seems like the majority of stadiums I've been to allow you to leave for whatever reason and come back. The ones who won't let you do that almost always won't allow it simply because of laziness on the part of the staff. It's really not that hard to stamp someone's hand when they leave and rescan their ticket when they want to come back.

I'll give a bit if a pass here to the Heat because the finals of any sport is a whole different bear, but that's still something that I've always thought was pretty cheap.

Watching that video from the Sun-Sentinel made me suprisingly angry. It's "fans" like those people who are willing to pay stupid amounts of money because they don't support a team throughout the season and are more interested in being part of a scene, rather than a group or club who committs to a team night in and night out.

It's saddening to think those people are going to celebrate tomorrow, while diehards in San Antonio are going to pine over what should have been last night.

"And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life... You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. But don't worry... you will someday."

It's unfortunate because I'm sure there are actually loyal fans in Miami. But the city as a whole has become notorious for being fair weather fans. The only thing that bugs me more is random people, with no connection to Miami or the Heat, that jump on and off the bandwaggon. Especially this guy here. Does it make people feel cool or something?

What guy where?

As for Bosh, yeah good for him. I am surprised he'd really say anything, but I agree with everything he said (particularly "protocol, not punishment")

For those who swear by the NBA being rigged, DON'T FREAKING WATCH.

Oh don't worry, we're not.

But, according to Lights Off, the NBA is getting more viewership because of the formation of these super-teams! He's never wrong!

I'm glad that Mr. Move-to-the-Better-Seats chimed in on this. Once again, a subject that he has absolutely no knowledge in.

I've never been to any sporting venue that allows you to constantly enter and exit during the course of the game, and that includes minor and major leagues, playoff games and exhibition games and regular season games, 5 sports, and numerous venues across the US and Canada. Maybe things are different in Phoenix than they are in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Vancouver, Cincinnati, etc.

Again, the main reason they don't let fans back in is safety for all parties. What's to stop some guy from leaving the building, going to his car to grab a handgun, coming back in, and shooting some fan/employee/athlete over a petty disagreement?

Secondly, it's about making a dollar. You call it "being cheap and lazy", they call it "doing business".

Thirdly, it's to make sure that a ticket isn't being used by multiple people. You want to come to a game? Buy a ticket instead of waiting for your buddy to hand you his used ticket in the 5th inning.

Game 6 was the 4th highest rated Finals game since they started being shown on ABC. But hey, screw the facts, why do any research when you can just get another unprovoked dig in at me?

So saddening since the Tim Duncan era has given the city four titles and Tim Duncan has 132 playoff wins, which is more than 20 NBA franchises and he will be personally tied with the Suns if they win Game 7.

Winning the NBA Lottery twice with transcendent players, Robinson was NBA "Top 50" and Duncan's career proven to be better, is really something to pity a city for the results of such "randomness" in the past 15 years.

And according to Lights Out and his accomplices on here, it's best for the entire NBA if these super teams win all the time, that people who hate the formation of such teams are scumbags!

So sports heartache should be reserved to a select few fanbases? That teams who perennially perform well, but suffer their own heartbreak shouldn't deserve any sympathy?

Yeah, let's not give any sympathy to a fanbase who is loyal, dedicated, and passionate to their only pro team. That their fans are a couple of scumbags who deserve all the hell they were put through in Game 6.

Bet you didn't give Yankee fans sympathy for losing in 2001 despite playing for a country who needed to heal after 9/11.

I too have worked for professional sports teams and have attended games at MANY stadiums. The only places I've attended games at that have a flat out no re entry policy are places like the Oakland Coliseum where there are violence issues regardless of security and where the ushers are basically the lowest of the low and the laziest of the lazy.

You don't want someone leaving to go get a gun mid game? Do your job and search them just as you did when they first entered the stadium.

You don't want someone exiting the stadium with their buddies to let to sneak someone else in? Then do your job and stamp their hand. Hell, even Disneyland can get this right.

Maximizing profit? Ok, that I can understand. It's greedy IMO, but that's business.

Just because you cleaned toilets at Thrashers games for a few seasons doesn't mean you know everything.

I stand by what I wrote.

Ratings have been going down the last three seasons.

"Screw the facts", indeed.

Technically you are right that ratings are down, but in reality there isn't much difference between last 4 years; 10.6 in 2010 (7 games), 10.2 in 2011 (6 games), 10.1 in 2012 (5 games). And this year will certainly be up there too considering there's a game 7.

Try "Game Ops Manager". For the Hawks and Thrashers.

I know exactly what all goes on during the course of a game day, more than you could ever dream of what might go on. You would kill to have as fun a job I have.

Stick with what you actually know, son.
