I don't know why, but something like this is much better than the S they want to come out with

The other one makes more sense, with the Sun being orange and the 'S' being purple. Either way, both look a million times better than what the team is planning to use.

Wait, so the suns are changing their logos to black and orange (which I actually really like), yet they're keeping the PHX logo and it's staying purple? That's the most bush league thing I've ever seen. This really doesn't get my hopes up for what the new uniform set is going to look like.

Really, if the Suns were smart, they'd capitalize on the colors every other Phoenix team is wearing and change their primary colors from purple and orange to brick red and black. Black and orange are the main colors of one of the D Backs biggest rivals, and purple is worn by two other teams in the Pacific Division.

'Suns' alone won't be a good fit with the brick red and black scheme. Change the name as something related to the desert nature of Phoenix's three other teams, like prior reject names Scorpions, Thunderbirds, Wranglers, Mustangs and Cougars

Theyre already flushing a great 40-year-old color scheme down the toilet; the last thing they need to pile on that is a needless name change.

Exactly my thoughts as well.

I HATE FRANKENSTEIN LOGOS!!

LET'S TAKE SOMETHING OLD AND ADD IN SOMETHING ELSE. GRRRR.... JUST TURN BACK THE CLOCK ENTIRELY TO 1993 AND CALL IT A DAY!

I completely agree. It's getting to the point where teams can just make two logos and alternate them back and forth every 10 years or so. Just because something's old doesn't mean it's good.

I can't look at this logo w/o closing my eyes. Not aesthetically pleasing.

Looks a little better against that purple background, but you're right, still a little hard on the eyes.

It still sucks, but it's better than a "streaking" sun messing up the whole "symmetry" thing.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

It's funny, I hadn't even noticed that change. Definitely a lot better that way than with the 'sunburst' broken in the 'S'. Use that logo with the purple and orange reversed and you've really got something. Actually reminds me of the old Suns logo. Why can't the actual team come up with good ideas? They've had several years to do it and in less than 24 hours I've seen much better ideas from Suns fans.

Gimme the Walter Davis/Alvan Adams Suns unis and I'm happy. They missed the BFBS trend for the most part and are arriving late at that tired party. The S-logo keeps reminding me of a drooling monster. Unenthused.

I'm hoping the uniforms have that classic look, but with the new wordmark obviously. Those uniforms were very simple, yet nice to look at.... no unnecessary side stripes, v-necks, etc.

I actually kind of don't mind the Suns minimizing purple, honestly. Having three purple teams in the same division was always overkill.

That logic is ridiculous, considering you play divisional opponents as many times as anyone else.

The Nuggets have the same colors as the Chargers. Broncos fans really don't give a :censored:. Having the same colors as a rival team in another sport doesn't mean anything.

The majority of Broncos fans couldn't care less about the Nuggets though.

I really wouldn't agree. Maybe in 1999. Not now.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

But to go to black? If anything, I would rather them emphasize more orange

Yeah, maybe they should go Clemson-style and use orange as the main color with purple relegated to trim.

Durr. Why on Earth a team named 'Suns' never went with an orange primary, I'll never know.

Well maybe it's because their logo (an orange sun) would have been lost in a sea of orange, so they picked a contrasting color to use as a base for it.

Every time I look at this logo, I hear Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun"...

I don't understand how that "S" logo was created. If you would lay the primary streaking sun on top of that "S" it wouldn't match up with what's there. They could have at least been consistent.
