The reason the A's road cap works over the home cap is because the cap is all green with the gold A. The home cap would look ok on the road, but the white A with the grey jerseys always looks just a bit off. Even as an alt cap it doesn't work because it's a reverse of the Alt jersey. That's going to look downright AWFUL.Uggh, this looks so pathetically bush league. They were a nice change of pace when they came out in '88, but mostly because they replaced pullovers. I'd much rather see them push the A's mark (actually, I'd prefer just the A, but A's will work too.) Aside from it sucking that they're apparently stripping down their identity by putting the cap logo on jerseys, don't make the same mistake the Giants just made. Pick piping or stripes. Not both. The white A's logo (just as with their white cleats) always looks out of place with the road set. And I agree, if the new green alt is just an inverse of the yellow jerseys, I'm ok with that. That awful new cap makes me think it won't be, though.Speaking of A's caps, I know a lot of us here know the A's defect cap that Lids had a few years ago that was all green with a white A's mark on it, but just the other day I found a home cap that had a defect where the A's mark was yellow. I'm still kicking myself for not buying it, or at least taking a picture, because it looked pretty damn good.
