Why is it whenever the Rays and Red Sox play each other, the benches always clear?

Because games under 3 hours aren't allowed.
Dude Really?
Yeah, really. Lowest offensive production of the DH era and games take longer than ever. That's not a good thing. What part of that do you not understand? The average age of a 2013 World Series viewer was 55. Is that a positive stat? Games don't have enough action, and they take too long, dude.

THEN DON'T WATCH! There are people out there that will watch no matter what pitcher or hitter is out there playing the game. No matter what production there is on the field. Trust me no one will miss you with your upside down trident.

Then start your own dadaist arena baseball that emphasizes offense to the point of absurdity.

Respect is overrated. Championships, on the other hand, are not.

Baseball Tonight on ESPN: "Giants & A's are 1-2 in the ESPN power rankings and now let's examine what it means for the Yankees, Red Sox and Dodgers. What do you mean there are 27 other teams in MLB?" :P

That's exactly why I don't watch any ESPN programming.

I really don't much either except for college sports & 30 for 30. I just make fun of ESPN for their lame biases. It's fun.

I do love the 30 for 30 and I do watch a little bit of college sports as well. But they have turned into the TMZ of the sports world. I love to bash them.

About them turning into the TMZ of sports. My thoughts exactly.

So I don't really follow baseball until after the All Star break. Took a glance at the standings today; what's up with the Rays? Are they as bad as the record would indicate?

It is cool to see the Blue Jays on top, hope they keep it up.

Injuries, the Ryas have lost 3/5 of their rotation and their lineup is also banged up.

If the Yankees and Mets were to swap home ballparks for the remainder of 2014, both teams might just make the playoffs.

Both teams have been flat out abysmal at home this season, and when they played their four game split series a few weeks back, the road team won all four games. The Mets in particular are something like 105-140 at home since the 2011 season. It's weird and unfortunate.

Yesterday, Kyle Seager of the Mariners hit a double, 2 triples, and a home run, one of the triples came when Derek Jeter thought the ball was foul and leisurely went after it, allowing Seager to motor around to third. I was amazed at how many Mariner fans online were saying they should rule that a single and an error after the game so that Seager could have hit for the cycle.

I don't care how you get them, 4 extra base hits in a game is pretty impressive, yet somehow, only getting 3 of them so you can get a fancy named stat is more impressive. I'm just not impressed when someone hits for the cycle, it bothered me that people thought a cycle would have been more impressive statistically than what he actually accomplished.

That's my rant for now, I'll come up with another one when someone hits a magic round number in something statistically.

This is one of the reasons I love baseball. The stadiums can truly play a role in a teams success. Pitchers parks and hitting parks are really what set baseball apart from other sports.

I'll always be a football/soccer fan over baseball, but these little niches make baseball all that more interesting.

Well technically, he shouldn't have been. Yeah it was pretty clear he hit Ortiz intentionally, but he wasn't ejected at that time and usually that's the case with the first incident of a game/series.. They were warned, but after that, he didn't do anything to be ejected. Besides after their little whinefest in Tampa Bay, I can't muster up any sympathy for the Red Sox.

You're right, no way baseball should ever make adjustments and adapt to a changing audience. 2-1 8 1/2 innings games that last 3 1/2 hours are perfectly acceptable.

Cut out commercials.

PROBLEM SOLVED.

Enforcing existing rules would be a start. Implementing a pitch clock would also make sense. Putting a limit on mound visits and reducing the time it takes to make a pitching change would be great as well.

MLB would kill to have the NBA's demographics. The average NBA fan is a decade younger than the average MLB fan.

So a demographic with less money to spend on tickets and merchandise, and without families that they also bring to the games and buy stuff for
