TaylorMade
I actually don't hate the idea of recolored team jerseys as All-Star jerseys, and it seems like they'd sell better than your typical "West All-Stars" jersey which I hardly ever see in the wild. Wonder if they're for the Saturday night events, though? Just guessing. But "dark grey" and "light silver?" They couldn't differentiate a little more? orangefaniniowa
Three more years and their contract with Adidas expires. I hope when that does happen Silver will tell the Adidas brass to take their short sleeved, revolution 30, swiss cheese of basketball apparel of NickNOBs and ugly numeral fonts out the door. NBA decision to switch to that apparel company and how they agree on letting them change their looks as far as a hoops apparel is concerned, really ruined any hope for me to buy anymore jerseys. I will not do so until NBA does to switch to a different company (Nike perhaps). I am just happy for my lucky stars that I still have my Tim Duncan basketball jersey manufactured by Nike that I bought for an arm and a leg ten years ago. Normally players just wear their regular jerseys with a special patch during the saturday night events.

Given the explosion of sleeves and fashion alts making their way onto the court, I'm fairly confident both parties are attempting to address stagnant merch sales. adi has a fixed contract that they need to show a profit off of and the league is in a ffairly stagnant period in terms of popularity which would translate to lackluster merch sales. All of these new attempts seem to be be pretty lame marketing 101 and reek of a lack of creativity (more and more alts) and just straight up tone deafness (sleeves). After saying all that I don't know if a different vendor will come close to helping. If anything a new licensee may realize that rbk/adi way overpaid and the new contract could come in for considerably less which might not change much at all. TJKiddsHead
yeah, if the nba wants sleeves, and 20 different alternate jerseys, it doesn't matter who has their license. they make the last call at the end of the day.

Yeah, but national team basketball isn't really relevant at all. It's not even close to what national teams are in soccer.
