So...Pat Shurmur is why the Eagles thought Bradford was so attractive?

Pat Shurmur?!

PAT "I DANCED A MUTHA :censored: ING VICTORY JIG WHEN CLEVELAND WAS :censored: ING STUPID ENOUGH TO PROMOTE HIM FROM THE RAMS" SHURMUR

Oh my.

Oh my.

I'm sorry Eagles, you're so screwed.

I don't think Pat Shurmer has any real influence with Chip. It's Chip's show, and nobody is going to talk him in to anything.

He got the GM fired so he could run every aspect of the show, and has systematically destroyed the team. It was one thing when it looked like he was freeing up money to sign FAs so he could trade his draft for mariota, but now that it looks like he actually wanted Bradford, nothing makes any sense anymore.

This could be the biggest swerve since Mark Henry put on a salmon jacket, and I reserve the right to backtrack if that's the case, but it's looking less like that's the case, and more like Chip Kelly needs to be handed a bus ticket back to the NCAA.

I'm trying to let the offseason play out before I come down too hard on Chip Kelly. I think trading LaSean McCoy was the smart move -- in the NFL these days, there's no sense in paying a RB top-dollar. This trade, though... I don't get. This has to be part of something bigger, right?

I guess one season of winning was good enough for Revis. Jets still suck.

If Seattle punches in from 1 yard out, Revis thinks twice about joining a perennial loser.

And do you think Brady even notices or cares when key players leave town anymore? I don't either.

Probably not. He'll just turn another mediocre player into a potential Pro-Bowler.

And lose in the playoffs because you don't have a defense.

Smallest move of the day with potentially a big payout:

Raiders sign RB Roy Helu Jr

He worked wonders for the Redskins the past few seasons. Best of luck to him out in Oakland.

When was the last time a Raiders free agent signing actually panned out?

Two year contract and will still have to win the job over Latavius Murray.

Just looking at Revis' contract numbers. If accurate, a 4-year 48 million dollar extension in 2012, a 16 million dollar season in 2013, 5 million with the Pats, and 16 million to go back to the Jets? 49 million in four years? That's just nuts.

That's why, per that Jarrett Bell/USA Today story, Revis (& agents) are the best ever at leveraging their talent for guaranteed money in the cap era.

Did wonders? All I saw out of Helu is a nice change-of-pace back. Plus he's headed to the hellhole.

Hellhole? It's essentially a push, possibly favoring OAK since Del Rio has more job security than Jay Gruden.

Both teams were 7-25 in their last two seasons and will have an OC who is over the age of 30.

He is from Danville, which is 20 minutes east through the Caldecott.

The real question is: will they be worse than the Rams?

Most likely.

Because Jeff Fisher has been a NFL head coach for 19 full seasons and has finished .500 or worse 13 TIMES!

And they still have Sam Bradford.

You spoke too soon... :)

This is the worst trade I've ever seen.

Sorry, but the Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts trumps the Foles-Bradford trade. In spades.

Revis has just made the single biggest mistake payday of his professional career.

There. FTFY.

The pick Cleveland got from Indy was essentially used to get Johnny Manziel.

Advantage: Indy.

So... the report of a swap of 1st round picks was false.

The Eagles actually GAVE the Rams a 2nd round pick next year and a 4th this year, and in return only got a 5th this year.

This is the worst trade I've ever seen. This can't be part of a bigger play to move up - you don't give away 2nd round picks to do that. There's an injury protection clause. Why would you include that if you didn't intend for him to be your starting QB?

This is Chip Kelly just being a total idiot. You're telling me he couldn't get more for Nick Foles? He traded Foles, who was making under or around 1M, for Sam Bradford, and then threw in a 2nd round pick just because?

I want to give him the benefit of the doubt. He seems like a bright guy, and this seemed like a brilliant move, before the details all came out. Now, I think this is a franchise destroying move.

If you haven't, you really should watch Draft Day. There's some improbable coup coming.

Kevin Costner's GM strategy in that movie was basically "let's do a bunch of :censored: that doesn't make any sense and nobody will expect and freak everybody out." and it worked. Chip Kelly is definitely Costnering.

Ugh. I hate when players try to "come home". What a lame move.

Yeah...You don't seem jaded at all over his year with Schaino. ;)

I was born jaded.

Also lost in the chaos of the day, the Rams traded a 7th rounder to Houston for the rotting husk of Case Keenum's career.

Free agency and the draft are over? That was quick...
