There's just SO much to choose from. It's going to be an absolute nightmare for the equipment staff. The D Backs now have THREE of the exact same black cap with the red A with only slight changes to each (Regular Black cap, Teal accented alt cap, red fade black cap). And then two nearly identical red caps. They have SIX different caps to choose from (8-10 if you include the throwbacks) when they should probably have two or maybe three if you insist on keepting the red D snake cap. That jumped out at me when announced -- I'll take any team doing something other than standard gray. And, it might actually look good with these particular team colors. CORRECT. - The "A" logo becomes the primary hat logo. CORRECT. - Black hats become primary. Red reduced to alt status. CORRECT. - New home & road unis, red & black alts, featuring diamond pattern fabric in places. New number/NOB fonts. CORRECT. CORRECT. The closest thing is the Mariners in 1979. That year and the next year, they wore the All-Star Game logo, a flared trident-M on top of a star, as a sleeve patch and as a helmet logo, while keeping the original straight trident-M as a cap logo. Then in 1981 the All-Star logo became their cap logo as well, as part of an overall redesign that included thick stripes down the sides of the uniform and outlines on the wordmark.1979 All-Star Game logo:1979-80 uniforms:1981 uniforms:The annoying thing about the Padres' brown and yellow cap is that they didn't get the yellow bell part right. But they should have used these 2 as primaries, and maybe added an alternate with the "A" chest logo and called it a day. The whole package is just too much. However, it really feels like they couldn't decide what they wanted. Navy Bills, Black Jays, Buffaslug, the Browns. This is, by far, the worst. I can find things that I like about all of those other unis I mentioned. Outside of the throwback, there is nothing here that works. 8 jerseys, 7 hats. That's madness. What's the over/under on how many seasons these last?
