My goodness what a game. Congrats to GB and Rodgers, who looked otherworldly today.

To Dallas fans though, don't get too down. With that O-Line, Dak, Zeke, and Dez, you'll be competitive for a long time

*sigh*

I still hate Aaron Rodgers and I hope he dies.

Edit:  preferably soon

Sweet, Pats over Green Bay in a snoozer. It's not even worth having to watch any more.

The first time I saw a coach do that last second timeout (or the first time I remember it anyways) -- I think it was Mike Shanahan against the Raiders -- it worked and I'm not sure I've seen it work since.  The best, though, is when the kicker misses the first one and nails the second.

It worked in Week 1 for Denver, too.

The game you're thinking of was from early in 2007, FWIW. That year, NFL and college alike, is when this fad (if we can still call it that?) began.

Ah, hell. The Cowboys had a chance at the end, but those first half blunders ended up being too much to overcome. Highly disappointing. I know overall this season was a success because once Romo went down, the expectations for the Cowboys this season dropped and they weren't suppose to have gotten this far on the backs of two dynamic rookies. But this still hurts. Gonna take a bit to get over this, just being honest, especially losing to that douche-canoe again.

There are some positives though:

  • Dak Prescott is a straight up baller. He was outstanding in his first playoff game. Led the team back from 21-3 and put the Cowboys in a position to win. Can't ask anymore out of your QB. He is, unequivocally, the Cowboys starting QB for the next decade plus. He just finished what was inarguably the greatest season from a rookie QB.
  • Because of the youth on this team, led by this offensive-line and Zeke, the Cowboys will be contenders for years to come. They learned an invaluable lesson today too.
  • In combination of the first two, Dak and Zeke will only get better from here. I truly believe this team will be back in this position next season.

Anyways, good game to the Packers. Definitely was an entertaining game.

Go Falcons and Chiefs.

Cowboys - Lakers - LAFC - USMNT - LA Rams - LA Kings - NUFC

FWIW, I'm a Packers fan and I was getting sick of Buck and Aikman going on about how great Rodgers is.

I wont deny he's good. But I get today to hate his guts. ;)

This Packers team is the closest thing I've seen to a one-man gang in the NFL since the Elway/Reeves Broncos.

Heck, on paper, I could make a case man-for-man Oakland with a healthy Carr has a better roster top-to-bottom.

Throw in McCarthy/Capers, and #12 is singlehandedly dragging this team farther than more star-studded Packer lineups.

As soon as Crosby hit their 2nd to last FG, I thought Dallas for sure would at least tie it, & they did.  Their D seems serviceable with big play ability, nothing more or less.

They do seem built to at least take the Falcons late in the Georgia Dome if not sneak by 4pts or so, that place really doesn't seem much like a home field advantage for someone like Rodgers visiting.

How do they get the time-out called literally as soon as the ball is snapped?  I hate how many rules there are, but I think there should be one where the defensive team can't call a time out within 3 seconds (at least on 4th down, or when the offense is in a kicking formation.)

It's silly stuff, and the "double field goal" is ridiculously annoying.

If I recall correctly, the coach usually calls the timeout as soon as the center lifts his head up which signals he's about to snap it.
