I would like to see this one used as the crestspacer.png

For some reason I prefer the full body katchina to this. It comes across as a bit too cartoony for me, where as the full body gives it a bit more context and looks a bit more complete as a logo.

That logo with the shark biting a stick could be a great update for the biting stick brand. But as it is, it’s a fantastic logo, and better than anything the Sharks have worn on the front of their sweaters.

The teal at the bottom feels like waves, while the orange feels like a California sunset. I dig.

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.

A look at the 2020 NHL Stanley Cup Qualifiers Logos

June 30, 2020 - 17:37 PM

If/when the National Hockey League returns next month, 16 of the 24 remaining teams will be thrown into the Stanley Cup Qualifiers, a playoff round invented due to the sudden end of the 2019-20 regular season. The Stanley Cup Qualifiers are basically meant to simulate the remainder of the season.

Does 47 have a thing like Zephyr Hats did where they created their own logos for teams? Maybe that could be the case?

EDIT: Upon looking up the type of hat on the 47 website, all the other ones (or at least to the extent I saw) use actual logos of the teams, so I don't know.

I'm not loving that hat.

First, I hate that shark logo. It's far more egregiously 90s than the actual 90s logo. Secondly, I'm with @FiddySicks The Sharks should be a teal, black, and grey team. Not a teal, black, and orange team. The sunny look the orange implies is more fitting for SoCal than NorCal anyway.

That’s by far the :censored:tiest Sharks logo I’ve seen yet. It’s never going to look good until they ditch that stupid sunset color/theme.

Not sure how I feel about that logo. I have a feeling that it looks ok embroidered on a hat, but probably wouldn't be a great jersey logo. That exagerrated perspective and cartoony shark mouth just dcoesn't scream classic hockey logo to me. I think of Detroit, Toronto, Montreal and Boston. Not a 3D Shark flying towards me with orange eyes.

Not defending the logo, but a 90s expansion team doesn’t have to scream classic hockey. That’s not the goal for the Sharks nor should it be.

I prefer Teal, Black and Grey.  But if orange is going to replace grey as the second accent, it should be fully embraced as such.  The hat logo makes better use of the colour than anything in their current brading package.  It would compliment this perfectly.

Well the actual 90s logo for the 90s expansion team had a far more restrained logo than that exaggerated cartoon shark, which came out in the 2010s.

It doesn't have to, but it helps if it does.

Ottawa did have a classic logo and everyone loves that. The Mighty Ducks logo is iconic. The leaping Panther (to me) is a classic 90's hockey design, so is the original Dallas Stars logo. Tampa Bay have landed on a pretty simple, clean identity and Minnesota has one of the best logos in the league and looks timeless. Columbus aren't that bad either. All of these teams hockey designs have emerged since the 90's.

Has anyone here ever seen this SJ Sharks logo?  I was looking at the 47 brand website and noticed this design that I've never seen before. Did some googling and I've never seen this shark in front of this shield...

It reminds me of something your would expect to see in the promotional material used for kids' events involving the team mascot. It doesn't look like a primary NHL logo. It's a cartoon version of a team mascot that appeals to children. I've seen cartoonized illstrations of Fin, Vancouver's Orca, that look just like this style. The only thing missing is that the shark in this logo isn't wearing a sharks jersey.

Which is why the word "90's" as a criticism doesn't have much meaning if any.
