I think people know New York exists. The team that has historically emphasized its nickname (it’s not a N-E-W-Y-O-R-K! chant) should have a more creative logo based on that nickname than a fairly boring wordmark. An overly detailed late 90s/early 2000s style illustration of a jet isn’t exactly becoming of a team with the history and locale of the Jets. That they’re ditching the uniforms that put the team, AFL, and Super Bowl itself on the map so they can have some over-designed Nike clownsuit with unnecessary colours is bad enough. No need to add a cartoony aggressive jet logo on top of it. Say what you will about the logo looking like a rugby ball but that logo and jersey (thought not exactly the same style) are the Jets. I didn't ask for an entire re-branding. I would have been very happy if they just switched to kelly green, fixed the shoulder stripes, and tweaked the logo so the outside oval went back to a football shape like it was in the 60's and make the inside football look more like an NFL football and not a rugby ball. The lid is off on all the corruption that taints just about every major program and every decision that the schools or the NCAA make is only about money, money, and more money. We'll have three 16+ team super-conferences sooner rather than later, killing much of the regional flair and traditional rivalries that make college sports unique and showing the door to any school that doesn't bring money to the table in the process. The Jets have one of the most boring logos in the league (even if it has history) IMO. There are about a billion things they could do that would be an improvement. Actually making it MORE boring would be... A very good representation of what the Jets are as an entire organization are. That actually seems like like a decent slogan for them.
