The NFL has meddled in the relocation since the very beginning (if Kronke had his way, he would have played this past season in LA), seems clear that this is their handiwork.   The league is the only entity in a position to facilitate a quick rebrand.

Yup. The meddling was by design to extract maximum $$$ and concessions from kronke. The other 31 knew how bad he wanted to move so why not put the screws to him? What surprises me is that there wasn't a hefty convenience fee offered by the league (maybe there was and he didn't bite?) to adopt the throwback uniforms for the season.

I agree with others. The Rams already have the jerseys the fans want in their set (minus the neck roll collar of course) they don't even have to do much. They don't have to do anything other than what the Titans did (twice) and just swap the home and alts. Make the throwback alts the home jersey and just wear all white with navy/gold on the road. I understand it won't match but the fans can live with that until 2019.

And it's not like they'll be the only team with completely different home and road colors/jerseys (looking at you Cowboys).

It seems like everything Rams related is going to be blue and yellow except for the uniforms.

Which is asinine.

They could've swapped gold for yellow. Baltimore rebranded the first year after moving from Cleveland. AND rebranded their new logo when NFL Properties refused to accept that the original Ravens logo may have been produced by a third party and needed permission.

So, it can be done. The NFL, though, is too egotistical for its own good. They want to make sure nothing with their 'brand' is tainted or inconsistent, which is what makes things like Ray Rice getting 2 games (after the NFL insisted on a personal conduct clause with players) and someone like Josh Gordon gets 16 games for smoking weed (something that IS legal in 2 states now, while beating your girlfriend will definitely stay illegal in all 50... I hope).

They don't want a sponsor, media members, etc, to accidentally use the 'wrong logo'. A manufacturer to not be able to produce the new logo on time, etc. So, they insist on a 2 year 'review and implementation' period. The problem is this wasn't just a uniform/logo update. This is a relocation. You already are going to be updating everything from St. Louis to Los Angeles anyways. They could've swapped colors and used the old Ram head logo and for other things just changed the city names. Even if they did play a full rebrand in two or three years. They are the NFL. They can't begin to imply to us that they can't do something within one off-season when they have the revenue and media attention they do. They can get it done. But, they're too full of themselves to realize that what they're doing is a problem.

It'd be just hilarious if the Rams are absolutely terrible for the next three seasons and are already struggling at the gates by the time the new yard opens.

I'm sure its been discussed somewhere in here, but what are the feelings towards a yellow primary home jersey? No other team in the NFL uses a yellow jersey as a primary. Does it just not test well with the fans? I thought the actual jersey from the color rush set was an absolute home run and would work well with blue or white pants and proper socks.

The Rams going back to a stadium they have history in dating from the 50's through the 80's just screams nostalgia and throwback uniforms so of course they totally will botch it and wear those terrible St Louis style junk... Makes no sense...

Unfortunately, it does make sense in the sense that they're spreading out their paydays. Realistically, fans will still buy the St. Louis-ized merch and then turn around and buy the new LA merch in a few years. A better move financially than just letting anything in the old colors burn.

Oh I think it would go over very well - in fact I'd be a little surprised if a yellow jersey isn't a part of their regular rotation in '19, either as a 2-game alt or even a primary.  It would sell like hot cakes in LA, and I get the sense that most of the uni-verse is on board with the idea of a yellow primary (as long as the pants are white, or maybe blue - just not mono yellow.)

My ideal LA Rams set would be a yellow primary that's similar to the color rush jersey, a white away jersey that's similar to the old LA Rams set, and a new blue and white throwback jersey so there is still a blue jersey in the rotation. And then probably yellow and white pants (they'd only go yellow/white at home), and then another pair of white pants for the throwback set. I'm not a Rams fan, nor will I be, but that's what I would like to see from a purely aesthetic standpoint.

And they would've gotten away with the uniforms too had it not been for that meddling* league.

More than mediocrity, the dark colors feel like a franchise that's in hibernation. The bright colors would have symbolized waking back up. The Rams blew it.

Look at the Toronto Blue Jays. The whole silver and black deal was awful, they switched and now they're a legit team again.

The colors are coming back; it's just going to 3 more years than we and/or LA Rams fans hoped. Where the Rams (or IMO the meddling league moreso) blew it is going back to the old colors* upon arrival. Stupid tone-deaf NFL.

*Even if it means just going back to the throwbacks and yellow Color Rush™ uniforms full-time until 2019.
