Couple more options from a local guy here in Tampa

I hate this. I'd honestly prefer they keep the current uniforms over these. Pewter numbers on a red jersey? Puke. They're close enough to the classic 1997 uniforms except each element looks worse, which means if they really went with these everyone would go "why didn't you just use the 1997 uniforms?", which means it's a bad concept. Poses no new ideas, makes the old ones look bad.

Having possession of/Knowing how to use a photoshop template =/= knowing how to create a successful and aesthetically pleasing concept.

With all this Bucs change talk, I decided to refurbish the Bucs helmet I have. I picked up an old beat up shell from my old high school about fifteen years ago(!), re sanded and repainted it, then grabbed the face mask and decals from eBay. The whole thing cost me about $20.

ill just say this. That color was INSANELY difficult to match. Took me going to several different hardware and paint stores before I found a shade of “metallic chestnut” that was close enough for what I wanted.

I LOVED the creamsicle Bucs...those uniforms endeared me to the terrible Bucs of the 1980s. I think the color scheme is unique and the small amount of red played really nicely with the orange (I think I said this is another thread) kinda like an orange version of the Irish rainbow. Top-5 all-time NFL uniform for me.

When they finally announced a change, the biggest surprise to me was that it took so long.  I knew these uniforms were mocked.  Bad team wearing really loud uniforms.  So I was glad they held out as long as they did. Nevertheless, I was still disappointed.  That said, I have to admit that I was really impressed with the new look.  Unique but still managing to look generally like classic football uniforms (traditional-ish block numbers, pants stripes, etc).  Then they win the Super Bowl and 20 years in, the uniforms are becoming a "modern classic."  So what do they do?  They introduce a steaming pile of crap with a college-like giant logo and gimmicky numbers.

And now we're left to hope for what...that they can mitigate the issues?  Obviously, the alarm-clock numbers are going away. But even so, are they likely to ever be a team with a solid look (like, say the sturdy if unspectacular Panthers or Texans) again? Or are they destined to be the Jaguars?

I know people find stuff like this "lazy" but I honestly think their best move to to go back to the modern classic look.  Just bring the directly back and let them drift back into being a modern classic again.  I say this as a lover of the creamsicles that would personally be ecstatic if they brought those back.  But in 1997(?), they had their look.  They nailed it.  Just bring it back like Coca Cola Classic (i.e., admit the mistake).

There is precedent for this, as that's exactly every the San Francisco 49ers did, numbers and all. Provided Nike/Ripon/whoever's manufacturing the actual garments can match/replicate the former pewter, I'd be 100% on board with that. (And if they need to farm their pants production out to whatever supplier made them last go-round, so be it.)

I'd be happy if they went back to the Modern Classics but with white helmets add striping with the current/classic red & creamsicle and the prev pewter as your pallet, little if any black. The white helmets would be ideal for throwbacks as well it would set them apart in the division.

Perhaps a modern block if ya wanna get fancy but besides that i'd say it would be perfect.

The pewter helmet looks off now that they can't match it to the pewter on the rest of the uniforms. It's time to drop pewter if Nike can't do it properly. Either that or just go back to the pre-Nike pewter dazzle fabric pants.

They could one-up the Niners by using the actual helmet logo. And I actually prefer the dazzle gold pants of the Garcia-era Niners to the tan pants of the Montana-era and current Niners.

@dont care  Ideally I agree wouldn't want them to leave the pewter helmet but it is unique to them. But as we all know the NFL's one helmet rule has effectively eliminated Bruce so moving to a white lid would open things back up to throwbacks .I'd  Pewter, red & creamsicle tattered stripes and make the logo normal sized.

@Ice_Cap your concept is pretty on point with what i'm thinking just switch out the black for pewter or at least keep it on the uniform with the big stripes and facemask.

If you go with a white helmet I think orange is the better option as the primary uniform color. Red jerseys with white numbers and orange or black trim wouldn't look as good as orange with red trim on the white numbers.

I'm hoping for a mesh between the Super Bowl era logo and the current wordmark, I absolutely hated the '97-'13 wordmark. Screamed bush league to me.

I’ll just say this. If they ditch the pewter for white, I’m COMPLETELY finished with this clown car of a team.

Turns out that, in their quest to make no one happy, they're going to come out with a Terminator version of Bucco Bruce.

I hope everyone is prepared for them to inexplicably look even worse next season.
