I'm trying to read all your posts in my head using an obnoxious "Ted"-style Boston accent. The idea seems hilarious in theory but has failed to amuse me thus far.

I'd offer to record vocal tracks of my posts for you, but I haven't had a Ted-style Boston accent since I graduated from college. The faculty-members who were charged with providing instruction in elocution, speech clarity, and accent elimination to the likes of aspiring actors and broadcast journalists were of two minds when it came to dealing with students from Greater Boston: they either looked upon the task as a thankless chore that was liable to break their spirit and drive them out of academia, or they leaned into their inner sadistic tendencies and became overbearing taskmasters hell-bent on wiping away any trace of the traditional, non-rhotic Beantown accent. Given that most of my speech instructors fell into the latter camp, plus the fact that I didn't have an extremely strong Boston/Eastern New England accent to begin with, I've come to possess a General American/Standard American/Broadcast English accent. In fact, when I worked on a television project set in Boston thirteen years ago, I ended up having to work with a dialect coach to beef-up my Boston accent. Crazy.

I really appreciate the commentary of the problem, but I’m not sure I like their concept as the solution. Not a bad uniform in a vacuum, but there needs to be orange somewhere. Red and orange is such a Bucs “thing”, it needs to stick around in some form like it always has, even if one or the other is small trim.

I don’t hate it. It’s got a bit of an Ohio State vibe, for sure. But the current uniforms and logos have more than a bit of a dog :censored: vibe, so this would be an upgrade.

Thats the thing with the Bucs. They don’t have to go back to the ridiculous winking pirate or awful color combo they used at the beginning. All they really need to do is simplify things a bit. Oh, and completely torch the entire logo set and return to the super Bowl era logos.

I'm not sure why they're trying to salvage a variant of the current numbers but that's the most glaring flaw with the set. Going back to the Superbowl era numbers, or something very close to it would fix a lot. A lot of new uniforms try way too hard to reinvent the wheel with numbers and most of them miss pretty awfully (Bucs, Titans, Browns, Seahawks, Dolphins)

From what I understand (and I could be completely wrong on this). The numbers are designed to be completely unique to the team for copywrite purposes so that if someone tries to make a knock-off jersey it will be so knockoff that people wont want to buy them (compared to having universal numbers).

The thing is that nobody should want to make knockoff jerseys with this font.

People who make knock offs already don't give a rat's @$$ about copyright. Having a fugly font doesn't change that -- it's just someone's excuse for why the fugly font exists.

It's where I sit.

I know it’s supposed to be pewter but honestly the uniform colors screamed Ohio St for some reason

Could be a nod to the Tampa Bay Bandits...which completely ripped off Ohio State.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Go Bucs!  Or Bucks?

Not to mention that if someone is able to make a knockoff shirt with logos on it, adding custom numbers isn't hard at all.  Custom number fonts do absolutely nothing to deter serious copyright violators.

Yeah, I don't think that staving off counterfeiters is the goal behind the NFL's switch from block to custom number fonts. I think it's far simpler than that. The NFL just likes to brand its own stuff.

They changed the pattern of the stripes on NFL referees so there would be an "official" NFL referee pattern. They even have the NFL shield printed on those stickers that designate helmets with live mics. The NFL loves to say "this is the official X of Y," so it's no surprise they're encouraging more custom fonts.

To the people comparing the pewter on the pants, you have to remember they changed the pewter itself, and the difference in material is just adding to it. On that note I much prefer the old color set overall, especially the old pewter. The current one looks like they wanted to combine the old pewter and black so they'd have one less color.

No because when the Irish came to Ireland and first came in contact with the leprechaun people, they didn't take their land away and force them to move west. Instead, the two groups learned to assimilate peacefully. However, certain tribes of the leprechaun refused to taint the pure blood and moved north into the forests of Ireland, only to be seen rarely, usually at the same time of a rainbows appearance and occasionally at the factories of Lucky Charms.

Can someone (or has it already been done) replace the colors of the current Bucs uniform with the previous colors?
