You have a point but I have no problem with that personally because not a single person in the whole world would look at those Penguins jerseys and mistake them for the Rangers. Other than the diagonal letters, the jerseys don't have anything else in common At the same time, when they switched to black and yellow it made sense because those are Pittsburgh colours but the Bruins thought it was their thing and looked wrong for them, at some point there's only so many things you can do without looking like you're copying other teams I never cared much for the skating penguin myself, maybe because I grew up with Robopen I guess what I'm trying to say boils down to, I'm glad I'm not in charge of picking what the Penguins should wear cause I'd have no idea They've never truly had terrible jerseys (other than the early Edge uniforms) but they've never had great jerseys either imo 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I don't like like the stripe on the pants, they could have kept the 2000s rounded font as I thought it looked cool and they were the only ones who used it and the sock striping could definitely be improved to be more in line with either the waist or sleeve striping. Good starting point but far from perfect, the stripes are all over the place Their AHL team were onto something with those socks. I don't have a problem with other teams using diagonal wordmarks as an alternate look, but the Pens' primary logo is too good to be left off the front of the jersey. The Rangers name is essentially based on a pun, so they don't have a ton of imagery to work with. Rather, my issue with the Pittsburgh set is that the wordmark doesn't match the number font at all. I think it's a vastly superior logo, particularly in how the penguin is illustrated, with a cleverly executed reference to the three rivers. It only gets the derision it does because it had the unfortunate timing of replacing a logo with back-to-back championships immediately after they were won... Just slapped the current skating penguin on the front and you'll have a nice reverse retro jersey.
