Minor/Independent/Collegiate League Baseball Logo/Uniform Changes

I think they checked off a lot of boxes.  People were upset that the team wasn't going to be named after Dale anymore, so they made him part of the logo. They incorporated the Boll Weevils colors and have a very similar uniform set to what they had.  They also got the Cannon name in there for the history that it brings.

I really like the road jersey and the alternate.  I think having Cannon Ballers on two lines on the home jersey is a little too much.  It would look much better with the CB logo on the chest, I think.

@Mr. Bojangles, I agree with all of this except for what should be done with the Cannon Ballers' home jersey.  I think that the retention of the staggered alignment of the wordmark for the full nickname on the home jersey is wonky, but I believe also that a baseball club trying to establish a new nickname with fans in the community where it plays is wise to have the full nickname somehow on the front of the jersey that is likely to be worn during most of the team's home games.  Therefore, I would do one of the following with the home jersey (in order of preference):

1. Develop an alternate alignment of the current script wordmark for the full nickname -- one in which "Cannon" is completely above "Ballers" -- and use that alignment on the front of the home jersey (albeit probably with slightly smaller letters).

2. Devise an alternate wordmark comprised of capital block letters -- possibly in a font reminiscent of carnivals and/or circuses -- and use the resulting logotype on the front of the home jersey (preferably with, again, "CANNON" fully on top of "BALLERS").

3. Move the home jersey's placement of the roundel logo -- a symbol whose boundary happens to contain the team's full name -- from the left sleeve to the left side of the chest, shift the number on the front of the home jersey to the right side of the chest, and place the CB monogram on the left sleeve.  The Chicago White Sox, the Cannon Ballers' major-league parent club, have their "SOX" monogram on both their cap and the left side of the chest section of their home jersey, so the Cannon Ballers are more than justified to do the same with the drawing of their new mascot.

I forgot they were changing their name. I liked Osprey.

Me too, though their logos needed some work. I think an older Missoula team used the name Timberjacks…if they went with that I’d be cool with it.

I mean, I sort of get it with Flathead Lake being so close by, and you can never have too many Moose (Mooses? Meese? Moosen?) as sports logos, but, it's just... Ehh. The name is still kinda lame.

Each new Brandiose design isn't just boring for the same tropes used over and over, but the line quality on every single design is so thick and dull. It looks like sketches I'll do with my finger in a text message using the default draw option. The word marks are usually well produced and the strongest part of each identity.

Also, all these  logos have way more going on than their others, and it's not helping here.

One of my bigger problems with this is how overly detailed this set is. Some parts are going to be completely illegible when embroidered or printed/digitally rendered at small sizes. On the logo with the moose in an innertube it has a baseball in one antler and a fishing lure and line in the other. And the pupil is green, orange, and white. That's going to be so small and muddy on a cap. The Montana outline logo is really nice, but again, I don't know how all those dots on the fish will translate when embroidered.

Can you imagine the primary logo, or any of these, printed at 1" or smaller in black and white halftone at a relatively low resolution in a newspaper boxscore?

Back in the early Clink Room days Brandiose showed off videos of them working with New Era to do cool stuff with embroidery to create depth and shading from which way the thread was running. They'd have a large element of a single color, but by running threads in different directions you could create all this texture and visual depth. I feel like that's now lost to this heavy detail.
