Dilbert
Pete Rose on the Reds: "How do you expect to win when you get rid of [Nick] Castellanos, you get rid of [Jesse] Winker, and you get rid of [Eugenio] Suarez?" Rose said of their moves during the winter. "Those are their 3-4-5 hitters in the lineup, they’re gone, and they have no one to replace them. "I mean, the Reds can’t score. They’ve got four guys in that lineup hitting under .150. How the [expletive] you going to win? Poor [manager David] Bell sits there and doesn’t know what to do because he’s got to play for one or two runs every night. And he’s got two rookies in the rotation." Meanwhile Roses teammate Johnny Bench is singing another tune. He said " it's a shame some have been so critical of [Reds CEO Bob Castellini] because his passion is second to none for that town and for that ballclub." Yeah Im going with Pete on this one. FiddySicks
God damn. That’s for sure gonna get appealed probably down to a full season, but that’s quite the statement for MLB to make. It’s also the correct one, and :censored: Trevor Bauer. I’ll take two more seasons of this particular “Bauer Outage”. 1 Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Cujo
Very important part of Bauer's 2-year suspension: IT'S UNPAID. FOH Bauer. Rot.

The administrative leave he's been on has been paid.
Sport
Lifetime achievement suspension. Yeah what he did was bad, but if he wasn't also a total dickhead for all the other weird, awful, annoying s*** he's done he wouldn't be getting two years. He's my second least favorite Cincinnati Red ever behind Pete Rose.
tp49
Unpopular opinion, the suspension is so excessive that when it goes to arbitration it will be knocked down at least by half if not more. If it winds up in court it will for sure be severely cut. Bauer being a vocal POS probably had a lot to do with the length and I am not condoning any of his behavior at all but I think the suspension's excessive particularly when looking at other DV suspensions MLB has issued over the years. I do wonder if the Dodgers will attempt to void his contract over this, now that would be very interesting.
FiddySicks
Honestly I think they may have went with two seasons in anticipation of it getting knocked down in appeals. Might’ve been a better guarantee that he serves at least a full season. Not sure they can or would want to vocalize that, though. 3 Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) A 2-year paid suspension would have been a 2 year vacation. And now he can't just throw money at his victims, to try to sweep it all under the rug. He won't have as much money as he would, if he was playing.
Dilbert
Reds are now 3-19, their worst start in franchise history. At this point they may give the 1899 Cleveland Spiders a run for their money. Quote Signature intentionally left blank

I feel for the players and coaches and broadcasters and employees who have to eat the :censored: sandwiches every day that the front office has prepared for them. It's not their fault they were put in this position, but I'm doing something I've never done before - I'm rooting against the Cincinnati Reds. I want this to get really ugly. I hope for the small chance that Phil and the other owners in the ownership group feel embarrassed enough to make the changes so this never happens again*. I wonder if there's a point in their little ROI cost/benefit analyses that led to the firesale where it tells them that being this bad is actually more expensive in terms of lost revenue than spending the money to compete and win would be. We can never let them forget that they chose to be this bad. I'm also curious to see how bad it would need to get before the performative optimists and bootlickers in Reds Twitter finally crack and finally admit things aren't good. Also I'm blocked by Mark Sheldon because I called him a shill last year and the idea of him having to spin this bull :censored: day after day after spinning the firesale as a good thing back in March makes me smile. Would y'all be less angry about the Reds had the Bengals won the Super Bowl? (Just an FYI, I was pulling for the Bengals. Never would've thought I'd ever say I rooted for the Bengals over the Rams in the Super Bowl, but Kroenke... sorry I got a little sidetracked.) Dilbert
I would be angry regardless of the Bengals. I started losing interest in the Reds when FC Cincinnati came to town, even before the move to MLS. Im going to miss Saturday nights FCC game to go to the Reds game with a friend. The only reason Im going is because my friend is die hard Reds fan, and I dont have to pay for the tickets, parking or food, so im not giving old man Castelini a penny. Same thing will happen next month when I go to Pride night. Otherwise Im not spending a penny on them this year. 2 Quote Signature intentionally left blank
