I’m in the minority, but the rainbow jerseys are super overrated to me. Better than what they have now, but I don’t get the appeal. I can’t even say it’s because I didn’t grow up with them, because there’s plenty of other 80’s-90’s jerseys I prefer. Tbh, I prefer mostly the classics than the current sets. The rainbows just do nothing for me.

Everything from  2003-2018 Nuggets was my favorite.

Are you talking about these?

Yeah, trash-bagginess aside, I remember liking those when they first came out, simply because (for Denver) it was so new. That navy alternate was especially sharp. And of all the major-pro sports teams that chose to rebrand to some form of navy-and-light blue in the 2000s, Denver might have pulled it off the best. Sidenote: I think they were also the first to do the two-blue plus yellow...only to be followed the very next season by the dang Memphis Grizzlies (who actually used three different shades of blue back then, plus yellow, and now plus gray) and then the Tampa Bay Rays in '08. Of course the Jazz also rebranded to double-blue somewhere in the '00s, too. But I think the Nuggets really jumped thay trend off, even though the Tennessee Titans Snatit were the first pro team to do navy and light blue in the recent era. (I say that because the Pittsburgh Penguins also did the two-blue thing in like the '70s or something like that, I think briefly.)

Anyway, my point to all of that is that it was a good distinctive look for the time, but looking at it now, it didn't hold too well. What they have now is a cleaner set...even though it could use some tweaks to look a little less jumbled. I will say of the current brand that I greatly appreciate how their current team font is a faithful (and far better) update on the Aachen Bold they'd been using since like 1993 or something up through somewhere around like 2016 or something like that.

Maybe one day I'll write up a full synopsis on all this...but for now let's all appreciate the current nuggetjacking now taking place.😄

Now imagine if they wear the '5280' uniforms in the championship clinching game?

I was disappointed they ditched burgundy accessories for white this year, I thought it looked great with their navy uniforms

I hate the current trend in the NBA of only white accessories

The Nuggets issue is mainly colour distribution. There's not enough maroon on either jersey, and too much white on the Navy IMO.

If anything, I really like the sublimated rainbow City jerseys they did back to back, and wish those had become the basis for their Home & Away set. It was a good way of modernizing a classic look, and it stands out much more than the Navy, Maroon and Gold they settled for.

These two sets, plus (if they really wanted) use the 5280 uniform as a alt, and they have a pretty decent look overall.

Not to mention, I believe the Nuggets were also the first NBA club to start the trend of simply recoloring the logo instead of designing a new one? Or was it the Pistons? If I remember correctly this was because the NBA began charging something like $500,000 for logo changes?  Of course, of the significant changes the Jazz (twice), Hawks, Wizards, Bobcats, Bucks, Raptors, etc.  followed suit.

That said, the 2003 change for the Nuggets was much better than the original logo from 1993.

My biggest issue with the Nuggets branding is the use of all three primary colours together, which I am hard to pressed to think of an example of that I would say is anything better than "not terrible".

Local Heat reporters are indicating a white version of the Heat culture jersey next season.

Not surprised at all, wouldn't be surprise as well if they bring a red version of it for 25/26 season (of course if NBA renew deal with nike).

Theres been a lot of talk above about an irrational love for the Raptors old split color unis. That’s how I feel about these. They’re 90s as all hell, and I absolutely love them.

We're definitely living in a time where the nostalgia monster is going full bore through the 90s, so I think that heavily contributes to why jerseys like the Raptors split colours are getting so much love.

That said, I agree. There is such a finite space on basketball uniforms to make the look your own that little details like the trees on the trim for Minnesota or the wacky number fonts give the uniforms character.

The Pistons did it before the Nuggets, they recolored the horse for the 2001-02 season.

Can't forget this amazing alternate.

The Nuggets should of made a white uniform and light blue uniform based off these and they could of had an incredible set.

College sports as we know them are just about dead. The lid is off on all the corruption that taints just about every major program and every decision that the schools or the NCAA make is only about money, money, and more money. We'll have three 16+ team super-conferences sooner rather than later, killing much of the regional flair and traditional rivalries that make college sports unique and showing the door to any school that doesn't bring money to the table in the process. Pretty soon the smaller schools are going to have to consider forming their own sanctioning body to keep the true spirit of college sports alive because the NCAA will only get worse in it's excess from here

While we are on the topic of the Nuggets, they just released the uniform schedule for the next round, and they are wearing their City edition more often than their Icon edition, because of course they are. What happened to wearing your base white/color jersey during playoff runs?

Can't post an image at the moment, but the schedule looks like this:

Game 1 - Statement (Blue)

Game 2 - City (Black)

Game 3 - Statement (Blue)

Game 4 - Icon (Navy)

Game 5 - City (Black)

Game 6 - Statement (Blue)

Game 7 - City (Black)

The fact that Miami has one of the strongest environments to find City edition inspirations, and yet the Heat feel the need to keep falling back on to some of the least inspired looks is unfortunate. As good as the Vice editions were, they still have so much to go on that isn't just "We are the Miami Heat".
