i just flipped on PTI while they were interviewing Chad Johnson, Carson Palmer walked into frame. the one thing that i found odd about it, was Palmer was wearing a LIONS longsleeve tee. doesnt the nfl have a rule about wearing clothing that isnt for the team you play for? man i wish i had a screen grab.

so no ones gonna mention that Chad Johnson has taken steps to change his last name officially to Ocho Cinco and will put it on his jersey? i was sure that would be big news around these parts.

Maybe it's wishful thinking on Carson's part. He has already mentioned how much he HATES living in Ohio and listening to all the hicks talk about O-Hi-a State Buckeyes. Chad Johnson can't help the matter much with his antics and crying either. Not to mention the Monday recap of 'Who Dey Put In Jail This Weekend?' by the media.

Can't blame the guy for wanting to go to the Lions......or any other team for that matter.

I already posted that in the NFL thread.

Sorry, not everybody reads every thread.

Plus, the Bengals play the Lions in their next pre-season game.

Okay first of all, does anyone really listen to Chad or do they just mute it or turn the channel? Another player who belongs in the overrated category. I don't care what kind of stats he puts up, when it comes down to it these guys pale in comparison to the likes of Jerry Rice, Steve Largent, Art Monk, etc.

On the Carson Palmer wearing a Lions shirt... that was the weirdest thing I've seen. I doubt the NFL has a policy on this, but I do think that the Lions or at least the players need to fine him in a Kangaroo court. Would that be considered tampering?

Didn't Warren Sapp wear an Eagles throwback during Super Bowl Week a few years ago?

Not only an Eagles throwback, but a Ron Jaworski throwback to be specific. All Jaws did leading up to the NFC title game was trash the Bucs and knob the Eagles. It was poetic justice :D

Kobe's wearing a Bulls jersey while a member of the Lakers:

I think there is a difference with an athlete wearing a throwback jersey (in this case the jersey of a legend like Jordan) and an athlete just wearing a tshirt of another team in the league. I have no problem with athletes wearing throwback jerseys from other teams. Its usually because they admire or are honoring an individual, and not doing it to support the opposing team.

I don't know if this is the same shirt, but it provides some background.

Carson Palmer Wears Lions Gear

But the shirt looks older than the 35-year-old Kitna. It looks like it may have been worn by former Bengals head coach Dick LeBeau in his heyday in Detroit during the '60s and '70s.

It turns out that Palmer has had the shirt longer than he's been a Bengal. He got it at the 2003 Senior Bowl, where the Lions staff coached his North team.

"Hey, do you care what's written on your shirt if you like it?" asked Palmer, pointing at the offending scribe.

"If things have gone wrong, I'm talking to myself, and you've got a wet towel wrapped around your head."

Thanks - that does provide some background. The background that he's a moron.

He's the quarterback. His job is to bring and keep his team together. Moreoever, as quarterback he's the face of the organization to the fans. You don't catch the CEO of Pepsi drinking a Coke in public, even if he prefers it. It just looks bad.

First of all, Cincinnati isn't in Ohio. It is it's own Principality wedged in between Kentucky and the Ohio border by the river. Just look at their most recent tourism campaign "Cincinnati, USA". It's a great city with nice people, and I was born there, but everyone from there believes the earth floats around it. So I don't know what Palmer is complaining about. He's not in Buckeye country, he's in Bearcat country. Second of all, name a recently arrested Bengal and I'll give you a dollar. They released Chris Henry and Odell Thurman. It's no longer an issue. Third of all, I know that a lot of players trade their team's gear at the Pro Bowl, that's probably where he got it.
